The only ones I like better are the widebody slantnose.  Still, I would probably pick this black one over those 'cause of money and bodyparts availability. 

Its even black.  Sigh.

I don't know why they quit making front-engine RWD sports cars. The 944 was awesome, and the best-selling porsche ever. Americans loved 'em. I guess you could say they didn't want to sell out their heritage, but, uh, not since they started making SUV's.

I've never driven a mid but they say it feels quite different.  Especially the older ones with that snotty burble sound that starts screaming when you tromp on it.

That's the 987 Boxster, completely redesigned from the 986 beginning with the 2005 model year. The most noticeable exterior differences are going to be the headlight shape, and the shape / color of the side air intakes.

Check it out sometime. There really isn't anything out there that will perform on this level, have as comfortable an interior, and be priced so normal Joes can buy it. The Cayman S is a pretty good buy as well, if you need the extra performance. Not quite worth the extra money to me, though.

Yeah, once you hit a certain level, you're either a rabid enthusiast or will find a quality vehicle acceptable and appreciate it for what it is. 

I'm stuck in the previous decade.  The black one posted a few clicks back has always been my fantasy.  I drool when I see them.  As long as the interior isnt early 80's minimalist (and you probably know what I'm saying).
