Free Talk Live is predominantly a podcast? She stated herself that we are on 20 or so affiliates on week nights and 50+ on weekends. That doesn't make much sense to me. I will grant that podcast listeners are FAR more interactive and supportive, but there are only 1000s of them compared to 100,000s of radio listeners.

Does anyone else see FTL as mostly a podcast too? Can you explain that perception to me? I would think that if advertisers share this opinion that it would be bad for the bottom line.

A lot of people would make the world a better place by removing themselves from it.  

I personally listen to people who I find to be knowledgeable and insightful.  I also listen to the advice of the people who are where I want to be.    A lot of people do a lot of stuff to make the world a better place but that doesn't mean that they've actually accomplished anything along that path.  You have some of the people who might be considered to be 'super-activists' who have done a lot but achieved very little.  

Look at what a few people around here have been saying.  "I've been doing political activism for years and I got no where........so I gave up....and so should you."  

They failed so why listen to them?

about the podcast thing.   I've always seen the show as a radio show.  A podcast tends to be a 20 to 30 minute monologue about one or two subjects.  The format of the show, even when listening to it as a podcast is definitely that of a radio show.

It's clearly a radio show.  I think of it as a podcast only during the extended editions when it is not on the radio.

Seems to me, most people here listen to the stream.  I don't agree or disagree with the podcast comment, which also has little to do with the statement.  In fact, I'd kinda forgotten about it.  I tend to overlook things that don't fuckin' matter, when I'm concentrating on the main thrust of the message.

I'd still call the show a radio show, I just prefer the convenience of being able to fast forward through segments I'm not interested in. But then again, I haven't been able to listen to a whole show, or a substantial part of a show, in over a year.
