I am a newcomer to the liberty movement....If I had come on this BBS a month ago and run across the type of racist posts I saw recently...I would have not participated and likely would have missed the message of liberty....I think that is enough of a reason eliminate such posts...It is counterproductive to the message and is totally NOT what the liberty movement is about...I have no problem with discussing racism and its ramifications in society and it should be discussed....but blaten racism is abhorrent in todays society...I commend Ian for his actions.

You can avoid the tax if you're self-sufficient, and if you feel like consuming a lot then you're going to pay more. User fees may be better, but I'd have to see a much more detailed plan than is put forth here because it could get very complicated. Charging someone a small amount every time s/he uses a government service could get quite intrusive and burdensome (how do we keep track of who uses what services, how do we accept payment [and is use of the USD considered a service?], time added to processes which previously would not have required payment, possible surveillance and/or universal ID/accounts which would make payment faster and easier...).I agree...consumption tax....lotteries would be too regressive....I have not thought much about user fees...have to think about that.
