The guy has a reason to be violent toward outsiders.. seeing as he's the last one left of his group. The rest have been mowed down ran off.

Dragline: I've used an outhouse many, many times. The proper etiquette is for the owner of the outhouse to provide a bucket of sand inside for use by the users to cover their shit. Pee is fine to leave uncovered. Once a week or so (depending on usage), the pit of the outhouse should be shoveled out and then dumped in the creek (downstream of the chateau & it's grounds).

It's also proper to have a flyswatter and a Farmer's Almanac inside the outhouse. Both of those items should hang within easy reach of a seated individual inside the outhouse. The hole in the Almanacs.. that is for nail-hanging if you didn't know.

I gleaned all of these details from my Grandparents' place, where their outhouse, a two-seater by the way, still stands and is still in use (though not as frequently) today.

a buddy o mine has a camp on a small lake, and while they do have a septic tank, (no leach field), they also have & practically insist everbody use the outhouse.

I'm not so sure he wants to kill anyone so much as wanting to not be captured by feds.  I have little doubt their actions clearly indicated their intention to violate his right to free association and to be secure in his person before one asshole got himself impaled for the offense.  Hut hole man is a defender of liberty, his own, and he won... sweet

That is more dependent on the water table.
