stamping currency
« on: April 22, 2007, 11:48:28 AM »

We can promote the website by writing www.freetalklive.com on cash.

I mean, it's just a piece of paper, and we wouldnt even be breaking the law (and who cares, some of us pay for the government to make the damned money)

so... yeh theres a cheap and easy way to advertise the site.

you know im surprised the government doesnt sell advertising space on dollar bills as it is... I wouldn't put it past them.

Get a stamp. It's way easier than writing it, I know. There is a thread about it in here.

It's fun to get your bills back. I actually got one that was stamped that wasn't mine. That was really neat.

Where/when was it? It seems to have been an isolated incident. Is there any possible way to tell how effective this is? I stamp almost all mine, but I really have no idea what effect it has, if any.

I got an FTL-stamped $1 bill back as change from a Mexican restaurant in Nashua, NH, where I go for lunch pretty frequently.
That was badass, so I started leaving NHCommonSense matchbooks with my tip there ;)

There's an idea for a store item--a Free Talk Live stamp for stamping the currency.

Here, in Keene. I got them back in Florida when I stamped too. It doesn't happen all the time, but enough to know they are circulating. Every once in a while, a curious cashier writes down the link.

If you get a batch of crisp new ones, I'd say they will probably run through some printers very well.  I know they'd run through the old Bubblejet I used to have--that had to be the best inkjet I ever owned.

I run'em through the printer all the time.  While it's printing the green and black, it might just as well print a "Free Talk Live" tag in red.
