I don't want to offend anybody, I really am curious. Why are so many gay people attracted to, and try to look like the opposite sex? I see a lot of bull dykes and feminised gay men in real life and I honestly don't get it, commen sense would tell me lesbians would like and try to be very feminine and the gay men would try to look and be masculine.

LOL!  I s'pose just like there is a sliding scale of sexual orientation commonly referred to as the Kinsey Scale, there is probably also a sliding scale of transgenderism-- feeling like you don't fit into a traditional gender role or just don't feel constrained to adhere to societal expectations about how men and women are supposed to act and dress, respectively.  There are straight guys who seem more feminine than many gay guys and there are straight women who don't wear make-up or pretty themselves up very much.
