In the past three years or so, (longer, I suspect) I have missed maybe four or five shows. During that time, I have never once listened live.

Not

once.

If you're listening to already delayed podcasts, why did you miss some?

I look forward to episodes where Sam is on it.

I like Sam on the show, when he starts to talk about "Law of Attraction" stuff I just grin an bear it.

Some people are more opposed to being forced to have a vaccine.

I am 100% opposed to forced vaccination, and that isn't the point anyways, I am reffering to the science.

When they're wrong, why don't you smart people call them up and inform them of your opinion.

I've called the show numerous time (Scott in Winnipeg) and will be sure to bring this up.

I understand that you probably know more about vaccines than I do.  I used to get a flu shot and get sick.  I don't anymore and I don't get sick.  All the science in the world isn't showing me the results I'm looking for so I decided to go against what the commonfolk do.

I like Sam on the show.  I don't like Law of Attraction.  I too have to 'grin and bear it'. . .but in doing so usually I just skip ahead to the next caller that doesn't have to do with LOA.

I know you call in Scott, I was referring to other live listeners.  It is possible to call in a week later with the same subject.  I hear it all the time.  They don't get mad.

I don't know all that much, as much as a layperson who reads science based medicine sites and blogs.

I used to get a flu shot and get sick.  I don't anymore and I don't get sick.  All the science in the world isn't showing me the results I'm looking for so I decided to go against what the commonfolk do.

That's cool, it's your choice :) I just get frustrated when I hear the anti-vaccine folks that get the science wrong, as they did on the show.

Guess I missed it. Usually, it's when the hosts get into a seemingly endless debate on anarchy/minarchy which spans several segments...
that I just tune out, and may not listen again for days or weeks.

The flu shot is a bad example of a good vaccine.  I've never gotten it.  I have on the other hand gotten a large number of other vaccines required for work in primary care in hospitals.  I am also a big proponent of widespread vaccination.  I'm also a pre-med senior who is about to get a biochemistry degree and currently works in pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Vaccines in general are very good for most people.  Some are stupid like the flu shot.  To use the flu shot as an example of why nobody should get any vaccines is just plain retarded and shows a giant lack of scientific understanding not to mention a giant failure in practical application of logic.

The "flu shot got me sick, so all vaccines are evil" argument is major fail.  Let's do a basic logic statement with that: "Flu shot = vaccine; flu shot = sick; sick = bad; vaccine = bad".  While the first three statements may be true in some cases, the leap to the final statement is completely fallacious and in this case very wrong.

If that last statement is referring to my earlier post, I'm gonna clarify.
I don't believe that flu shots are evil because I get sick when I get 'em.
Never said that, and I wouldn't force a choice on anybody either way.

It wasn't referring to any particular post, just all posts that proclaim that vaccines are evil.

Same, my son almost died in the hospital within minutes of receiving a combo shot. Severe asthmatic requiring a respirator and inhalers after that, perfectly healthy before. An immediate reaction leaves no doubt it was the shot. He will get another over my dead body, which just seems like a possibilty these days... One of a thousand reasons I homeschool.

Oh, and Sam rocks! I am more inclined to listen when he is on. What is the problem with us deciding for ourselves...

What shot was he getting? How old was he? Did he have asthama symptoms before? Does he still have them? have you had reactions to vaccines? How much real time passed in between getting the shot and having the raction? I'm not doubting you, I'm looking for more info.

They talked about it again tonight while I was on hold but I didn't get on, grrr, I want to yell at Mark LOL
