Lawdy.. nearly a whole episode on the issue.

One thing I keep hearing from the hosts is that one should never speak of black folks as a if they are a separate group, a unit of individuals that can all be judged as one.

However, the hosts and some of the callers have no problem doing just this as long as it's from the perspective that blacks folks are/have been discriminated against, or oppressed. That's more shitty spin, and no sir, I do not like it.

Not all black folks should be seen as deadbeats, just as they all shouldn't be seen as victims. Even historically speaking black folks have not all been victims- that's just more doe eyed white people sort of thinking... "Woe.. the black creatures need assistance for they are unfit to do well for themselves.. weep."


The other thing, Chinese math.. I didn't hear the whole thing but it seems some people think Chinese folks are better at math than white folks and it's due to the language/pronunciation. But then I think the hosts scoffed at this and said it's sorta racist to hold such views.

Why? If the Chinese have a better method of teaching math (even if it does come down to phonetics)- then maybe they have an edge of anyone who isn't Chinese.. why the hell is that considered racist?

There is nothing wrong with speaking of people in a collective term when you realize that not all people will fit the "standard" of that collective.  Of course you can say that "blacks are better basketball players" and you can see the evidence of it in the NBA.  That doesn't mean that you won't see SOME white boys who are good at it and even ONE Chinese who is good at it....  But MOST of them are black.  So now I'm a "racist" for making a simple observation...

Basketball is only one observation regarding the notion that "races are different".  Of course we can continue with other valid observations.  Anyone who DENIES that the races are different is just burying  their head in the sand and saying "NAH NAH - I CAN'T HEAR YOU"...

And I'm not claiming that "different" means inferior (or superior).  It just means different.  All of the "differences" are due to inbreeding of the "human" animal from the first two "perfect" examples of human DNA (either "Adam" and "Eve" of the creation story or the "eve" theorized by those who promote the story of evolution).  All "races" came from this original source of DNA.  All "races" are imperfections in that pool.  This is why you see genetic defects that are specific to races (the sickle-cell anaemia is a good example).  Asians have certain genetic defects that result in higher incidents of disease in some areas as do all races.  Of course, environmental factors and social factors have an influence on everyone's life and DNA can only give one creature a hint of an advantage in certain areas.  In a race horse, that "edge" is nurtured with good nutrition and training to make a winning horse.  Now you might get an old nag to win the crown, but you have a better chance if you select the genes that tend toward speed.

Does it mean that EVERYONE of a specific race will show the same tendencies?  OF COURSE NOT !!!  No one should make such a claim (if you do, then I think you do fit the definition of a "racist"...)

I'm new to the show  
I'm not focussed on race but i do love to analyse our society. I'm listening to the last 5 shows and get very annoyed by the sheer ignorance and political correctness.

Let me explain the Kenian runners. It's a scientific FACT that they are built in a different way, their legs are 10% or 20% more efficiënt because of some bone structure.  
This nonsense that Kenians aren't a race has nothing to do with it, it's this area of Africa where you find this type of humans. There are also lots of Ethiopian runners   The hosts were right about the culture which caused this superior running ability. Professional running has also been promoted in this area of the world because they have such an advantage simply because of their DNA. They make big bucks in the west, a good opportunity for this poor region, it's a moneymaker.

There's also something important to understand when we speak of superior performances with certain sports and DNA. You have slow muscle and fast muscle.
Slow muscle is excellent for endurance sports like running a marathon and such. Fast muscle is excellent for explosive sports, like 100 meter sprint or the most corny example basketball   There's a reason why the best athletes with these sports are these big black muscled guys with fast muscles, not the skinny Kenians or skinny whites with slow muscles

You can clearly see the different body types in these sports and clearly it's about DNA. Culture and geographics also plays a part, you won't find many ice skaters in hot ass Africa   The political correctness about not being allowed to point out the obvious is just mindcontrol. There's nothing wrong with pointing out that certain groups have superior abilitities, calling everything racism has been taught to control our society. It has nothing to do with being a superior human.

The big mistake is indeed lumping everyone into one group. You can make statements that certain groups (blacks, whites, asians) have better performance in certain areas. But you can divide (for example) the black group into smaller groups too, untill you reach the individual. Look at Africa and you can find many different types of black people, different shapes and colors. You can easily find a white guy who can jump rim high compared to some black guy who can't jump  

So the conclusion is the following, you can't really say anything about anyone untill you analyse the individual. But don't get your panties in a twist when people make general statements that are also valid.

The big ass rims on the car call was pretty funny. The funniest thing about this stereotype is that black rappers create this image, so who's to blame? Who owns the record labels promoting and funding all this stuff? I believe you find many jewish people running the entertainment industry. You have the white customers buying the stuff which keeps the genre alive.

This subject is a lot deeper than some hillbilly calling into the show and calling him a biggot   Our society is very complex.

What can I say? It's a topic I think upon regularly. Has been since the 80's when I noticed a lot of people start to dress like MC Hammer- that's when I began to pay attention to trends and commercialism, both of which are deeply intertwined with political correctness. All three combined makes fro something truly miserable.

This thread so far though has some good comments in it. Open discussion like this one is where progress happens- not calling names and getting all defensive.

Another way to illustrate what Gene monkeybrain are saying is with a "shotgun" analogy. This here is hellbilly speak.

Shoot some buckshot at a stop sign. Most of the pellets made an impact in tight formation leaving the largest hole. Satellite pellets appear all around the main hole leaving individual or smaller pockets of holes. Some of the same material have separated from the group, but it's still buckshot

Shoot a couple more rounds and the satellite pellets overlap, mix and form their own new holes. Still buckshot- just different.

I see a college football player who most likely got some sort of vehicle from shady rule-breaking gifts from his "agent".  This is not a professional sporting event.  I bet he's got a small dick too because of teh royds.

The question was what Gene saw inside the helmet.  I saw Michael Crabtree's face, but given that Gene and I see totally different things from time to time, I thought I'd ask.  BTW, he's a college player, and that's a college game.  He's been drafted by the 49ers, but he's not playing for them (at least, not yet, if ever.)
