So I reckon tonight was the first Sunday night edition of Free Talk Live?
It's being produced by the co-hosts, which I think is a kick ass concept.
I'm can't wait to hear it.
-
Waaat? Today is Saturday.
I havent listened to tonights yet. I have it downloaded but I'm less than half-way through last nights.
-
Oh yeah. Lucky me to have a life I don't know what fucking day it is.

When you work pretty much every day, same time every day, they tend to blurrrrrr.

Free
Talk Keene Live!
There should definitely be less "shout outs" and "calling in to say hello".
I don't blame Dale for taking their calls, I blame them for calling in to say "hi".
I found it very fucking annoying.

That show did have a "local" feel to it. I think it would have been a good idea to start with some show prep for the first 15 minutes or so--some NATIONAL story. Of course, it was live and NOT on the radio, so I guess only "regulars" were going to call in anyway. I still haven't listened to the end of that show, and since the Monday podcast is up....

I don't generally follow politics which is one reason why I've traditionally been a fan of Cracked articles. I had that one ready to go but we had calls right away and callers always take priority over show prep. It's frustrating for me too when people call in to say "hi" and then have nowhere to go. I think that's somewhat of a first show phenomenon and partly my fault because I encouraged people to call in on Facebook so some tend to be supportive friends and acquaintances. Since the show's usually not on Sundays, it seemed appropriate to get the word out as much as possible so we wouldn't have a nigh callerless show which would have been worse than having tons of calls even if a few were just shout-outs.

For what it's worth, I thought the Cracked article was good. I just think to jump-start the show with an issue (something short and sweet) would give people reasons to call in for some other reason than to say "hi." Also, you did seem more comfortable as the show went on. I think that has "recursive" value, in that it makes the audience feel better, you sense that, etc. I guess in non-geek you'd say the confidence feeds on itself, and maybe that's why a kick-start topic can be good. Obviously, people can call in about what they want, but at least it throws an idea out.
To dwell on it a bit, maybe each of the hosts should have a potential "kick-off" story. You can talk about it right before you go on and pick one, and if you get a bunch of calls lined up, you're good. If not, you go to the next kick-off story, etc. Then, of course, you could go with the deeper list later in the show. Somebody's gonna say something interesting about a topic eventually, and the show starts running itself, and you end up having Mark and Ian's problem--hardly getting to any of the prep.
That's my idea, anyway. It sounds brilliant to me, but I'm medicated at the moment.

I really enjoyed the Sunday show. I'm sure it will get more polished with practice, but even as it was it seemed less scattered than shows I've heard Mark host alone.
Hopefully this doesn't come across as too creepy, but I'm a fan of Dale specifically, and anything that gets more of his words into my ears gets two thumbs up from me!
I intend to increase my monthly AMP contribution in response to the newly added content ... as soon as I figure out how. :?

I'm not quoting this out of any sort of narcissist impulse. I just couldn't help noticing this is message 600,000 exactly! So it's really an OCD impulse. 8)

Ooooohhh ... it's an omen! Man, that's a lot of posts.
Imagine if it were all intelligent and useful content ... and not so much inane and bizarre nonsense.

This Sunday will have two people on that you probably haven't heard much about. Hopefully I do well :)

I've given "Sam I am" a lot of shit for his Law of Attraction beliefs, so I feel due to point out excellence where praise is due.
Last night on the Sunday edition of FTL, Sam sounded completely at home and natural sitting in the number one spot. I didn't hear too much of the show, but I did hear the beginning and he kicked ass right out the gate.
Calm, collected, smooth.
I guess he asked the Universe' for a good show and the Universe' provided--jab.

I'm going to be listening to that one for sure! (right after Breaking Bad).

I thought all of them seemed that way.. chalked it up to them not being nervous because Ian was playing the role as Head Honcho...
eh?
-
I don't know how to put this gently, but it was like night and day when Sam was in the first seat, and then was not. Sam definitely has it nailed. The way I see it, the "first chair capables" who I'm aware of so far are Ian, Sam, Gard and maybe Wayne. The rest need work (and hey, I'm pretty sure I'd suck, if that's any consolation.)
-
Dunno.. I liked the fun change of pace. The "werewolf" story was pretty good. I'd welcome the Sunday shows to become exactly like old Art Bell stuff.
-
Just listened to the Sunday show. I thought it was good, but geez I say "uhm" and "you know" a lot.

Everyone does, try re-listening to your comments and substituting "you know" with
"don't you know bobby"

Some of these Sunday night shows bring up many interests. But on this last one I could only make it about halfway through and turned it off. Also, I would like to hear more of Sam as a guest host.
-
Shetalklive fucking rocked. Wished I was listening live.
-
SheTalkLive rocked the joint. I just listened to the podcast today, but I'm looking forward to the next one. The ladies managed to make their points effectively and entertainingly.
-
I agree with the above two posters. These ladies were intelligent, thoughtful, polite, and they took charge of the mic to provide an excellent show! Have them back!

Which show was that?

I agree.
More aliens, chupacabras, chemtrails and remote viewing for sunday. All done by chicks though.
