Jury Duties
« on: August 06, 2009, 03:47:55 PM »

Listening to last nights show, you talked about how if yoiu don't report for Jury duty, they usually don't go after you.  Well, had moved two years ago, and had an "Officer" go to my old residence that is occupied by my ex-wife.  He had a summons for me to report to the jury comminsion office for my community.  I am one of the few that you speak of that are actually hunted down to report for jury duty.

Do us proud as Jury Duty is the highest form of public service in the world as you have the most direct impact.

I received a summons about 5 years ago. I, like the caller, chose to ignore the demand... I've had a speeding ticket, about 3 years ago, and no peeps about it. Sorry to hear you were their unlucky lottery winner :(

That was before Sam eloquently opened my eyes to what it means to be a juror; How I myself may someday depend on someone like me. Marc Stevens in the 2009 Liberty Forum put it best; why participate in this fashion? I am paraphrasing but "I will do it because if the tyranny is going to happen whether I am involved or not, I have an opportunity to weaken the impact of those tyrants on the individual without providing any benefit whatsoever to the tyrant." If I have anything to do with the ("coercive monopoly gang") tyrant, it will be Jury Duty. Thanks.

Ebonic Translation:
Man! Dey b callin me 2 disappointment. **** dat!.. C i sed it no tang. No 1 cum 4 me...
Man dat Sam b da bawm! I b helpin dose who b doin nuttin. Now I node dat guy ain't b hurtin no1. da jury be lettin him go. lates. :P

I got called once but was not selected for the jury. There was a victim so no nullification any way.

My dad (who lives there) tells me that Japan for the first time introduced jury trials for a limited number of civil cases, and the populace is aghast, they think that regular schmoes off the street are far too dumb to weigh these complex legal issues, and it's sponsors have met with derision and calumny wherever they go. Never underestimate the human capacity for servility or love of authority.

Only jury I have been on was a high profile case that involved murder, attempted murder, arson and child endangerment.

I dodged jury duty by explaining to the good crat how my job, at the time, made me an 'inappropriate juror.'

I was working with the mentally ill.

Worked a treat.

Sorry to disappoint. But, if helps, the crimes occured in a trailer park.

What makes you so sure he lives in northern ID?

I tried to go to an "activism" meeting up here and I will never again attempt it. People are crazy.

[SOLVED]

I fanagled the schedule so that all meetings are opposite white power, truther, Alex Jones Fanclub (or do I repeat myself?), 2-minute immigration hate, and AA meetings.  As an additional bulwark, I got a "shower required" rule passed.

The meetings are lonely, but I rarely argue with myself, so they're enjoyable.
