Having listened to the podcast, I'm surprised Mark didn't lose it sooner.
how many times do they have to bring up Ghandi and Martin Luther King?
Can't they see a difference between a millions strong movement trying to get equal rights for blacks, or trying to remove a colonial power, with a hundreds strong movement trying to get rid of government all together?
How many black people would be against equal rights for blacks?
How many Indians would be against not being ruled by Britain?
Its much easier to get people activated about equality, than it is to get people go against government. Equality doesn't have to address any issue of freedom, it doesn't matter what laws there are, as long as they apply equally.
And of course, in the last 20 years, political action in America has brought about decrimmed and medical cannabis in several states, legalized prostitution in others etc.
And civil disobedience has done what exactly?
Also the idea that because statists use politics to increase the state, means that any politics must increase state power is idiotic. As libertarians we support the politics that helps liberty, and don't support that which hurts liberty.
This also assumes that somehow civil disobedience is the method by which you get rid of political power. In the last 30 years in America thousands of people have engaged in civil disobedience and it has done nothing.
And Sam acting like numbers don't matter, ridiculous.
