      Thing 1 "Today I bought my first firearm."

       thing 2 " Geeereeeebleelel screeeecccchee caaarbbbble."

       Thing 1 " I got a five dollar discount"

      thing 2 " GRRRRRREEEEEEEEEE ssssssscrrrrrraaaaaaaaa"

       thing 1 " All I had to do was sign up for the military"

         Thing 1 and 2 now sing the lion king song like susan boyle in perfect unison.


I just have to ask WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS? It has been playing on the podcasts during commercial spots. I just want to let whoever put it on know that it probably isn't selling anything.

Yeah, it's about the worst produced commercial I've ever heard. No--make that THE worst. I'm not even sure what they're selling. Or IF they are selling anything.

Also, it's just painful on the ears. Maybe not so much on the radio, but podcast listeners have earbuds stuck in their heads. Something ad makers should keep in mind.

Maybe someone wanted to financially support FTL but thought putting out a gag commercial to confuse people was more fun than simply AMP'ing?  ;)

I think the marketing term for it is "teaser ad".

In a week or two they'll release a similar commercial that actually makes a point, and you'll be listening attentively because now you're curious.
