Title: For Ian
Post by: dalebert on October 29, 2010, 12:59:32 PM
Because he probably won't ever see it where it was posted.

I looked at the "affiliates" page again and now it's at 81...  so I thought I'd click on some of them (I don't have the time to click on them all).  I found two out of the top 12 that are out-of-date or they have not updated their web sites because they don't list "Freetalk Live" as part of their programming. WWPR shows "open" and WDNG shows "Tammy Bruce" in the slot that is supposedly FTL.  WBHP is shown 3 times because they simulcast on 3 frequencies.  WPBH just does not show anything on the schedule where FTL is supposed to be.  Maybe they are trying to hide the show from their listeners.  If I had time to spare, I might try listening to their stream on sat to see if they are on or not, but I won't...

I only checked the first 12, who knows what I would find if I spent the time to check them all, but it's obvious that the number 81 is inflated.  The old saw is "figures don't lie, but liers sure can figure..."

Thanks Dale.  I certainly would not have seen that.  Considering I call each affiliate every three months at minimum, I think I'd know whether our list is accurate or not.  Radio station websites are notoriously bad.  WBHP's PD told me in person when I was in L.A. that we are on weeknights from 8-9pm CT, so I added that info.  Just because we aren't on their site doesn't mean we aren't on-air.  WBHP is listed four times, actually, because there are four transmitters airing their station in Huntsville/Decatur.
