I was reading some responses on the question club website, and maybe this was covered on the show I haven't had a chance to listen since the invasion of the question club, and some of the responses to Ian's question are as follows;
3. Is is possible that much of what you have been taught is misinformation designed to keep you fearful, docile, and obedient?
...I'm not a conspiracy theorist. I believe that what people learn in public education is neither the whole truth nor nothing but the truth (awkward hayoooo), but I don't believe I'm brainwashed... BUT MAYBE THAT'S BECAUSE I'M BRAINWASHED.
Let me guess. This has something to do with the Jews, doesn't it? The Freemasons? Queen Elizabeth and the Illuminati? The World Bank? Bilderburgers? Trilateral Commission?
The latter of those two comments went on to spout off about the jews, much of which sounded a bit like mark mocking some the nutball callers
Liberty today unfortunately seems to be a "fringe" belief. And now, thanks to people who think that conspiracies are the way to convince people to, well, whatever conspiracy theorists are trying to do have really hurt the message of liberty. If we all want to achieve liberty in our lifetime, than why focus on historical "facts" that are more divisive rather than showing what is happening today and uniting under a banner of freedom and revolting against tyranny!
One more point. People shouldn't shudder and wait for an inflammatory barrage of "facts" about 9/11 and the skull and bones society when you mention that they dint know the truth. In my opinion we should all work towards dispelling the conspiracy that people who have "fringe" beliefs (as the belief that we are not free has unfortunately become) are all conspiracy kooks.
***just wanted to add that I think FTL does a GREAT job when confronted with conspiracy theorists on the air. I know that this post may be preaching to the choir, but I felt compelled to type it***
