Title: An interesting anecdote...
Post by: ttibby on May 25, 2009, 11:05:43 AM
Hi Y'all...  Was listening to the show on pod cast today, So I am not sure of the date this particular show aired.  However, I heard a caller mention something about being busted with some weed and E, and 1500$ in his pockets.  And the police report having only cited half his pills, no pot and 500$.
Well, when I was in University I did a field placement at a police station in Ontario.  On my first day on the job, I got the walk around a tour of the facilities, got my all access card (Oh yeah I should say I was not a cop, I was a social worker in the Victem Services Unit).  Well, like I said, on my first day there I was given the grand tour, my all access pass electronic key to the whole station.  At one point, the officer giving me the tour said he was only going to tell me something once and to listen very carefully, not to ask him to repeat and he said that I should understand, and if I felt the need to clarify not to bother cause I probably will have understood correctly, and reminded me not to ask any questions about what he just said.
We then went into the evidence room, he said this is where we put everything that we confiscate, Ok.  Then he tells me, this shelf is where the things that have been processed go, and this shelf is for the things that have not been processed.  If something should happen to the stuff on this shelf, it's bad... but if something happens to the stuff on this shelf, oh well!  and he left it at that.  Now on that shelf were drugs, Laptops, money, paraphenilia (pipes and such), and some other stuff.  On the other shelf was more of the same but also had the harder to hide things like phones and car keys, jewelery and shit.  I couldn't believe it.  I went back a couple of hours later just to have a look and half the drugs off the un processed table were gone.  I didn't take anything cause I was worried that they were trying to peg a university kid into the stereotype but thinking back I wish I had.  It was a free ticket.
Later on when I was a social worker in Ottawa, I was at the police station and there was a waft of pot in the air and I ask the duty officer, who's been blazing at the cop shop.  He told me to go out back and have a look.  They were burning, open air, a small crop of pot that they had harvested and confiscated.  They all took turns out back raking the pile.  Now it was totally illegal for them to be doing that.  But they argued that it was only a small crop, 100 mature plants or so hardely worth sending to the incinerator, so they just decided to burn it out back.  At one point the cop told me to back up my truck and throw a couple of stalks in the back if I had a tarp with me.   I politely declined telling him that I was there on official business.  But there I have literally scores of stories like these.  Also quite a few from when I was working for children's protection services.  I'll try and post some later.

Just thought I'd share these stories woth you...

Like I said before, I sometimes get lazy in forums.  I type as if I were talking.  My appologies.  Put it in paragraph form.

Cheers,

Cops are crooks on the government dole. Fuckers. They just steal shit from honest drug dealers.
