I think the War on Drugs has been used as an excuse to take away more of our freedoms than anything else.

It's really difficult for me to say which I hate more - the military or public schools. I went with public schools.

I almost voted for the military, but if it wasn't for the Federal Reserve and Income Tax (not on the table) they wouldn't be able to nearly what they do.  If it wasn't for that and the Interstate Trade clause, the US Federal Government would probably be much smaller (of course, there's the Lincoln era, beyond that.)

I chose public schools, for the reasons mentioned above.

But I wanted to add that public colleges and colleges that take funding from the federal government are almost as bad, because they just raise tuition knowing that the government will give students more financial aid...making it harder for students (and their parents) that want to pay their own way.

Wealth redistribution has the most concrete effect on my life, creates a culture of entitlement and depresses the economy. It's amazing how many people I know became born-again fiscal conservatives as soon as they started earning enough to really feel the tax bite.

While there is a very good argument for the educational system, I have to stick with the gun grabbers as the biggest danger to freedom. The stark, visceral fear of death is the greatest shield against an ambitious politician.
