That's just one of many, many threads on this issue. As new people come to the BBS, you have to expect these issues to get brought up again.

Hmm...maybe we should "sticky" some threads once and for all and dump them in a new section called FAQ.

the main reason a person would be a minarchist instead of an anarchist is because of security.......they're scared
you can every bit of security in anarchism that you could in any form of government

This said, but anarcho-capitalism could "jump to a big government system"(by Charles from the link you posted above). It seems to be both systems will tend towards bigger government. Can the instability of an unproven libertarian society be enough to force us to accept the government as it is now?

man seeks to satisfy their needs via the least amount of exertion.

there are two ways to accomplish this.

1. economic means - labor
2. political means - steal someone's labor.

a state is a system that allows via law-based property (privilege) for one class to steal the labor of those being excluded.

governance as agency seeks to protect the absolute rights to self-ownership of those being excluded by requiring that all law-based property (privilege) be conditional upon compensating those being excluded.

Anarcho-capitalism is the best end result..but working towards returning to a Constitutionally-Limited Republic is the sensible working goal.

nowhere but to be realistic, you know not everyone will agree on the same system of governance

the only reason people try so hard to fit themselves into an anarchist framework is because they are convinced that all taxation is theft.

I would prefer that people were convinced to voluntarily share economic rent with their neighbors inorder to uphold their absolute right of self-ownership.

I feel that complete Anarcho-capitolist is the only true liberty oriented way of life.  I started out a rank and file republican, believeing in the 2nd amendment and states rights and all that good stuff but as I grew up and matured I carried my logic out to a more libertarian philosphy, and just recently I made the leap so-to-speak to Anarcho-Capitalism and carried the logic to its end.  Therefore I feel that all liberty-minded individuals will eventually become Anarcho-capitalist if they simply think about it and carry their logic out to its end.
