You left out:

Fuck no, and if they put them on gun X, I'll either disable the lock or not buy the gun.

The first thing I do with every new Smith & Wesson I buy is open it up and drop some "Red" Locktite* into the lock. Problem solved.

*The red kind requires a torch to soften.

If they make trigger locks mandatory, people will just invent a less convenient, less safe alternative that isn't a trigger.

Hell no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If there was a lock on my trigger and a invader breaks in I have to get the gun, get the key, unlock the lock, take the trigger lock off, ready the gun, aim the gun and then fire. Most likely by the time I did all that the intruder would have killed me by then. If you don't want the gun to accidentally discharge keep the shells out of the weapon until you are going to fire it, if there is no ammo in the weapon it will not discharge.

Thanks to everyone who voted. I've found this question to bring out the latent socialist in anyone. Obviously any responsible parent would teach their kids to respect guns and/or keep them safely locked away to begin with.

The real question is, would anyone expect someone on *this* site to vote "yes?"

I was tempted to vote yes just to be a smart-ass but I couldn't do it. I'm sorry Jay, I know I've disappointed you!
