How does it work with hotels and stuff if it's a camping fest thingie?  I don't really feel like lugging camping gear on a plane from Scandinavia =)

There are several hotels and B&B's nearby.

You might also be able to work out a deal with someone in sharing a campsite, which could reduce the amount of equipment needed to your sleeping bag and cot or mat. There are plenty of stores in the area where you can pick up those.

Great, thanks.  Trying to get a small invasion force to come with me to NH this summer =)

Sounds ... cheap ... or not =)  Well, compared to a hotel + travel costs it probably is.

I am planning on going but the problem is that I do not drive so getting from the airport is one of the hurdles for me.
If any one here can help I would be greatfull.

There's a Walmart nearby that has everything you could need. I went there last year after flying in and spent about $30 and was set for the week. I didn't need a tent but I think you can get a small tent pretty cheap also and you can probably find someone who will store it for you afterward until you move to NH. I just hooked up with some folks who had extra space on their campsites and chipped in a little.

I don't know yet where I'll be living when Porcfest time arrives, but I suggest you coordinate with some folks in Manchester. You can probably get a ride along with some of them and I bet they'd pick you up from the airport which is right there.

P.S. Your avatar is the spitting image of a guy I knew in the Navy back in the early 90s.

Sucking cock while listening to Weird Al is one of the finer pleasures of Navy life.

I just noticed the "NO" votes are running neck-and-neck.

Nine people emphatically, unapologetically, without hesitation, are not going.

I think you're reading too much into it. You can't infer people's motivations from a simple yes/no/maybe vote.

For example, I voted no, but as I explained above, I wish I was able to make it.

I'm not reading anything into it at all.

However....

(Here is where I found some private amusement, which I will now share)

So, it's basically even, right?

Not.

Not even close.

Because the people who selected "NO" are almost certainly not going to attend.  Its a given.  They have reasons, whether they be financial, other conflicting plans, its just impractical, too far, whatever.

But those who selected "YES"...  Bzzt.  Wrong.  Half of them will not go.  Right off the top.  Other things will come up, plans will change, a thousand reasons.

So, you can take one or two of the Maybe's and perhaps 4 of the Yes.

As this thread gets necroed it'll rise proportionately.  Right now, you have 25% of 24 votes, approx, so, maybe 5 or 6 people total.

Not 9 and possibly 4 more.
