Name this idea: No state, free market
« on: May 07, 2007, 12:13:37 PM »

If you want another result, don't vote, ask for it, and I'll add it.

This deserves a fresh start.

My personal input on the topic:

Market anarchism is the best term because it includes all potential systems that could result.

Anarchy, while it doesn't mean chaos, certainly doesn't explicitly exclude it, and is too closely attatched to TV-friendly anarchists.
Anarchocapitalism implies a certain vision of the post-state world that are not necessarily results of a stateless free market.
Free-marketeerism isn't very well used, and as far as I know Ian invented it, and nobody outside FTL really uses it much.
Acracy and Panarchy are not self-explanatory like many of the other potential words are.
FOCJ (Functional Overlapping Competing Jurisdictions) also implies a certain post-state vision that might not appear.
Mutualism's "anti-capitalism" rhetoric earns it a bad name. Avoid this term unless you want to be specific.
Market anarchism is self explanatory, implies no predictions of the structure of post-state society, so this is my pick even though I'm an agorist.
Self-government is also self-explanatory, implies no predictions of the structure of post-state society, another one I really like.
Agorism is too specific, once again, implies yet another vision of post-state society.
Ancom and ansyn included just because I've found ancoms and ansyms that advocate market anarchism in practice, if not in theory.

I am going to stick with anarchocapitalism, mostly because I have it tattooed on my arm.

That's as a good a reason as any!   :)

I figure it doesn't matter so much the specific term used but whether the idea is successfully relayed.

You got the word "Anarchocapitalism" tattooed on your arm? I could understand a libertatis aequilabritas or a general libertarian phrase like "Don't tread on me", but something that specific doesn't seem like a smart thing to get tattooed.

Not the word, but a symbol which many have claimed to have invented, but I had inked while they were still masturbating to their mothers' Sears catalogs.

Like this one...

Hopefully the word "Libertarian" will hold this meaning - nice and simple.  But we're not there yet, too many nationalist libertarians and minarchists confusing the issue.

Anarcho-Capitalism also works.  (Don't over-concatenate, we're not Wörterbuchschreibenkartoffelsuppeessers!)

Don't fear the word Anarchy, it simply means absence of a predesignated hierarchy.

Don't skip on the word Capitalism, lots of idiot anarchists running around saying that "all forms of property is theft".  :x

EDIT: good points.  BTW, Keti, love your avatar!

I think you're putting too strict a definition on libertarianism.  Libertarians aren't necessarily anarchist.  They want a more libertarian society, but have not necessarily decided how much more.  For the libertarian, I would hope, there is no part of the government that they would wish to expand...that, in my mind, is the limitation they should respect.

Edit: silly typo

Skip on the word capitalism because it means different things to it's supporters, and it's enemies and is an open invitation for a strawman.

"Market anarchism" implies property rights as well as "anarchocapitalism". But it doesn't imply some of the other things anarchocapitalism does.

For the record:

"Property is theft." -Proudhon
"Property is liberty." -Proudhon
"Property is impossible." -Proudhon

Proudhon is the original anarchist. By today's standards, he's a mutualist. Like what BenTucker was. He's just misinterpreted grossly by all the modern stupid anarchists, who never quote him as having said "Property is liberty" for instance.

"Retarded" wasn't on the list.

And skip "foolish children", because there are far too many of them.

And skip "selfish mundane rejects", because we all know what a strawman that will be.

Be sure not to confuse MY OWN PERSONAL definition of "idiotic lollygagging" with that which is commonly used to define childish theories which rely upon Wikipedia to instruct what a sensible society really is.

And nevermind the communists, fascists, agorists, socialists, panarchists, anarchists, anarchocapitalists, spoonfedliberals, neocons, democraps, republicrats, libertaricrats, crackhoes, and circus clowns. Pay more attention to the fact that as you sit around jerking off to new terms which really have no meaning or effect on this world, your current society is imprisoning you while you whine and act like intelligent beings, when in actuality you are really googalised retards with no future.

Bow to the NWO, fools. We've got you at "hello".

P.S. Nice T-shirt. Corpse.

Didn't vote due to the hypocrisy originally started by ignoring reality and pretending as if anything any of you say has meaning.

Your own hypocrisy trumps my own. Slave.
