It seems everyone except for one have done just that, which is very hurtful to the libertarian movement. I know not all are like that, and I'm not one to stereotype, but if 95% of the libertarians I have come into contact with on this board are closed minded and immature, that sends me a message about their beliefs and cause.

You're full of horse shit, but until you started whining about your negative karma, I didn't care to bitchslap you.  It has more to do with being a complete fucktard with no tact than having a dissenting opinion.  Some of the cops who migrated from there LEO forum still have really good karma, because they can conduct themselves with a degree of grace.

And some of the older posters don't have the best karma, simply because they're a tad off-topic and more than slightly confrontational.

Most people are pretty defensive about their beliefs.  That being said, most of the individuals here are open to hearing the ideas, then agreeing, disagreeing, or qualifying.  Very few completely shut out the concepts.
I concur, most of us have a pretty clear idea of what BT is in favor of... we just completely disagree with it.

Um, no we haven't. Ian has been letting you say whatever you want. That's what this BBS is all about. Free talk. Now stop whining about your karma, it's making you look like a fucking crybaby.

I've already said I don't care about that little number by my name, I was only commenting on certain member's attitudes. ;)

I was at the bar two nights ago.  This is a weird upscale place, the beautiful people, kind of ritzy but kitschy at the same time.  You'd have to see it and how the interaction works.  Anyway, theres this really obnoxious guy and I'm sitting right next to him.  Proximity is becoming an issue and I dont want to be seen as a co-conspirator to this guy, because he's really barking his ass off like a thirsty dog.

So, its me and him, on one side, and the whole rest of the joint is lined up across the place, its "U" shaped and they look like the defensive line of the Oakland Raiders.  Staring right at us.  This is pure death.

To make matters worse, among the crowd opposite us is the owners, and they're getting pissed.  He's yelling right across the room, saying "I could buy and sell this fucking place, you guys think you're so fuckin slick like I dont got the money to own this dump if I wanted it".

Honestly, it was getting snakey.  So, what could I do, I started mocking him and looking away when he would turn to look at me.  I'm flicking my tongue out at him, 'til the one guy gives me the (yo, c'mere dude) sign, and I happily escaped sitting next to this fucking mook.

So, now I'm happy as a clam minding my business away from this guy, and he fucking follows me over.  He says really loud "You know what I'd be doing if I ran this place?"

Coulda heard a pin drop.

I said "Yeah, you'd be sitting here broke and alone, just like you are right now."

Laughter explodes, slapnuts leaves, and I wait half an hour to escape without having to attempt a brawl.

Its not much different here.

A good story is worth applause.

I disagree with BT 100%, but would never bitch slap him over that. So far as I've seen, he's remained pretty well behaved on this board.

When I post something disagreeing with someone's position, I just expect to get bitch slapped. Some people take disagreement personally.

I just figure that some people like me and the rest don't.  For some members of this board, it has a lot to do with who they actually are more than their ideals - such a BT or Bridget.

Well yes, they are.  But when they get to a certain point, they don't even read what he writes.  The bitchslap link just gets clicked automatically.  I know I don't read that shit, but I also don't bitchslap either.

Hypothetically, I MAY be able to set an automatic timer in Linux to bitchslap certain people who have really pissed me off...

And I have never managed to keep anybody on ignore for long.

Strictly hypothetically, right?

If I were to theorize on hypothetical scenarios, this would possibly be one of the probable outcomes.  Figuratively speaking.
