Title: Is it time for NEW mods?
Post by: Dragline on December 18, 2011, 08:19:18 PM
I think Ian had it right the first time

but when, as in life, little whiny brats hold their breath until they turn blue, you capitulate & say,,,,,
jesus christ already.
fuck it.

get off the fucking floor & back into the grocery cart so we can go home....

i expected far more from our friend (called brasky) than THAT temper-tantrum

true fucking colors bleed right thru

it is TIME for a change?

LOL, you just can't control yourself.

Don't ever come whining to me on the LRN chat ever again. I should have continued to ban you.

you've been a honorable chap, but your brethren are apparently apoplectic about my reincarnation, and have made it abundantly clear that they are going to be orwellian in their oversight w/ respect to my presence here.

i'm jus tryin' to get along, is all

and, to be clear
i NEVER WHINED about anything
you & i had a nice talk.

Here is my suggestion to fix all this bullshit.
All Mods lose their mod status for a week or two.
Mr. Freeman gives our new queen Stephanie Murphy ALL the mod power.
We should all (with the possible exception of FTLMark) be banned in a couple hours based on something we already posted. Stephanie gets canned and we all come back with sock puppet names (I get dibs on "shmelaric"). Then at least we don't have to discuss crap from month ago like some naggie wife.

The Mod issue was just re-vamped a month ago.  Stop being such a twat.

In case you weren't paying attention, Joy was Modded, Jay got his stars back, Blackie was given status - which is a mistake IMO - because he likes to cancel his account every week, and has since stopped doing that after getting stars, which to me means he likes knowing peoples locations.  Ian gave stars to Hellbilly and then rescinded the decision after realizing a large part of the problems were directly tied to his idiotic opinions about "free speech", and Royce was modded - another mistake, and he banned himself and hasn't been seen since.

Mods have three purposes- help people out when they don't know how to work the controls and/or lock themselves out.

Remove spam.

*Remove people who cause problems.*

Dragline caused problems for two years and was asked at least a thousand times to cool his wheels.  Refusing to comply, he got shown the door.  End of story.

Ha. Stop projecting.

Users can no longer delete their accounts.

You left out the part where you lost your stars.

Take up the forum control issue with Error.

I don't give a fuck about my status.  However, if you go into controls, you can un-mod yourself.

I suggested you speak to Johnson last time.

You just like the argument, and don't care about the solution.  Put on your big-boy pants and follow a problem to its conclusion, or shut the fuck up about it.

I don't see it as a problem.

I'm just explaining to you why I can't do what you are suggesting.

Yes you can.

You're just not doing it right, or in the right place.

Trust me, you can do it.

Why you can't communicate with Error or Johnson?

idiotic

Oh, hi Dude.

"idiotic" depends on who you may ask.

As requested by you, I've not interacted with you until now. It was a good suggestion and I like it this way.

Personally I'll skip opening up the tired old issue, but if you want to keep slinging shit around - ain't no stoppin ya, but it lacks class unless you can really back it up.

Its an opinion and I stand by it.

Private property means you abide by the owners requests.  You believe that your first amendment rights extend to private property.  They don't.  You spent many hours trying to construct an argument to the contrary.  In my book, that means either you don't understand private property, or the first amendment.  Or both.

For a real world demonstration, get invited into a friends house, start a disagreement, and then insist on staying after he demands you leave.

Pretty simple, really.

I guess that means you won't give a fuck if I un-mod you.

I think you do give a fuck about your status. Let's do an experiment.

Let me know if you want me to give you mod status back.

...

The rule in question is an anti-bigotry policy. I'm fine with that rule.

One action taken towards meeting the goal of having a bigotry free BBS was to implement a word filter. I think that's stupid - but, whatever. No biggie. I don't and haven't used The N Word so it doesn't apply to me.

The word filter falls short of including many common bigoted phrases, except those that pertain to black folks. Thus the anti-bigotry policy does not exist to protect the feelings of gays, asians, latinos or whites, only blacks. This means that the BBS really isn't dedicated to being bigotry free, or that whomever is implementing the filter doesn't truly comprehend the issue.

That's logic for ya. I'll stick with that and you can continue to use emotion as your ideological foundation.

No, I really don't care.  But it's not yours to touch.

And since you can't be trusted to make competent decisions regarding other peoples accounts, I'm leaving.  I spent 2 and a half years understanding what I should and should not do to other peoples accounts.

You're a rat, always have been, and always will be.

What!? Dammit, Blackie!

Brasky, what am I supposed to do without your occasional storytelling kicks?
Will have to hunt you up in non-FTL cyberspace... guess FB is the place to start.

That reminds me of an old saying..

Justice isn't served by making more than one mistake.. no.. More than a single wrong is not proper ... no that ain't it..

A wrong once shame on me, a wrong twice shame on... no.... hhmm..

Well heck.

Anyway, I see you are a Mod again. FIGHT THE POWAH!

Assuming Svengali is not blackie...

What happened to blackie? Did he self destruct or was he removed by an angry mod?
