I had BenTucker blocked once, but people kept letting him hijack threads so I unignored him.

I have only had to block one person here, because everything that I've ever read them post is bullshit.

And who was this?

I'm pretty conservative with my use of the ignore button. I tend to ignore only trolls. If someone repeats themselves endlessly without saying anything new and just ignores comments made as rebuttals for instance. I might ignore someone if they are a brand new user and immediatley post something extremely controversial and anti-libertarian. They're not really interested in talking. They just show up to drop a bomb and waste people's time.

I think I've ignored like 2 people and I think I even un-ignored someone after a short while.

Ignore is pretty useless anyway, since the troll posts tend to get quoted.

I don't think it's necessarily contradictory to use the ignore button but not be of the "if I don't like something, I block it" mindset.  For example, I have that conspiracy nut Red-something blocked because it's usually a waste of my time to read what he posts.  It's not that I can't take reading it, it's just that I've read it so many times that I don't care what he says anymore.

Normally, he only posts in threads that are topical to his pet causes.  I scroll past him, too.  But not every time, he can be fun to take pot shots at.

That's true.  Luckily if I feel like reading something he has to say, I can always expand his comments and read them.  I can also see what he's saying when someone quotes him.

That's why I don't use the ignore button. I'll always see what that person is saying anyways, so it's pointless.

True.  I also do it to make a statement ;)

About two seconds.  I navigate to my previous posts via my profile, to read any responses to my comments before I begin surfing the board for the newer stuff.

Then I get naked and call phone sex numbers on stolen cell phones, which I acquire from ladies purses as they kneel in prayer at catholic churches.
