I used to watch about 3-4 hours a day up until 2 years ago but now I'm down to 15 min in the morning just to get the weather.
I'm much happier now than I was before.
-
0-1 hour/day.
-
I usually watch South Park every night or every other night. Sometimes I'll watch a movie. Generally I'd say I watch about 30 minutes to an hour of television a day, but it really depends.
-
None.
-
Last 6 months or so?
None.
-
I tend to watch 2-3 shows on a regular basis, which means no more than four hours of TV a week. Right now I'm watching pretty much nothing except Netflix movies.
-
I don't watch it every day at all. I watch three shows through the course of the week. House, M.D., Fringe, and Bones.
-
I do like House but I haven't had a T.V.
What is Fringe?

What is Fringe?
It's the show that comes on after House. It's about fringe science. There's an FBI agent, scientists, criminals. One of those, you know? You don't need a T.V. to watch either. Fox.com broadcasts full episodes for free if you want to go the legal route.

I'm not in America, in my experience legal T.V sites tend to have geographic lock outs but I'll give it a shot.
Edit:
Yep. 'Thank you for your interest, this service is currently only available to customers in the United States'

Well there's also sites like Hulu and stuff that have the shows posted for people to watch. I'm not sure about the legality of those (as if most of you care), but it's the same shit they've already posted for free anyway.

Yeah. Cool. I'll think about that when I'm somewhere with a better connection. (I'm using a cell network modem at the moment)
-
Don't do it, Andy. Fringe sucks.
-
I haven't turned that thing on in a while.

Fringe is a scifi show based on magic. It blows.

Shaddup. It makes me laugh.

Same here. My favorite line is still from the first show, with Dr. Bishop announcing something along the lines of "Excellent... time to make some LSD"
It was said so matter-of-fact, yet with the Vincent Price, mad science enthusiasm.
John Noble is fantastic, and makes the show fun to watch, magic or no.

This. They were showing a re-run last night and he was spewing something about making his own anti-psychotics.

The kid from Dawson's Creek as the straight man to his father's lunacy is pretty good, too. And the assistant whose name is never remembered? Like her.
The blond playing the FBI agent is hit-or-miss for me. She's lovely, but a bit too blandly intense, or should I say intensely bland, if that makes any sense.

I'm not sure how many hours I watch TV in a day. Thanks to the DVR, I know the number of average hours is about 1/3 less than it used to be. Of course, thanks to the DVR, I can go days, or weeks, without watching TV, and not miss a thing.
In January, my total hours will go up, I think. Scrubs is back, Battlestar Galactica is back. Doctor Who, and I think Torchwood, will also be back on SciFi. Plus, there's Dollhouse, which will premiere in February. A few shows I watch will have ended by then, which should help offset some of the viewing, but there's still Top Gear, Heroes, The Office, Life on Mars, Chuck and Fringe.
Damn. It's time to ditch the TV, before I become a total couch potato.

0
But I did watch some of The Young and the Restless while I was at the dentist today. I'm hooked!
-
I bought a 42" plasma last year. I think I've watched it less than 10 hours in total. TV show torrents spoil me.

For a couple hundred bucks, you could build a computer that can stream those shows to the TV, with HDMI for full 720p (or 1080 if you have the bandwidth to download them).

I did. Still easier to watch it on the laptop, though. Heh.
-
I have watched roughly 3 hours in the last year.
-
I'm watching right now to see what i'm missing...So far, I got nothin.
-
Basically zero, although occasionally I will turn on the toob for House or Sons of Anarchy.
-
I have three "must see" shows: "Prison Break" (which has really jumped the shark and is being dropped from my list after the current season), "Lost," and "Heroes." Oh, and "Sarah Conner Chronicles." At least, for now. The rest of the time I will sit through some of my wife's shows, or watch movies. Usually, we get through a couple of flicks a week.
Oh--and I will watch "Cash Cab" during dinner when my wife is at work.
-
I stopped watching the "idiot box" three years ago. Its amazing how ridiculus tv becomes even after three months of not watching it. Think about this, you sit in front of a screen full of people being paid to pretend to have a life instead of going out and enjoying your own. I'll torrent a movie now and then but I dont spend 28 hours a week drooling in front of a screen.

I believe that's called "acting." And yes, it's terrible. Films, plays, puppet shows, various forms of dance, story-telling.....all worthless!

On basic cable? yeah. Most of it is.

Chill out, that's not what he is saying.

I know. I just had to show the implications. :)
-
Almost none at all. I actually try my damnedest to ignore whatever my parents are watching when I happen to be in the same room with the TV.
-
Fringe is a scifi show based on magic. It blows.
You say that like it's a bad thing.
Fringe does suck though. Also, you can add The Simpsons to my list of regularly watched shows.

I hardly consider a majority of what is out there on tv and in movies to be acting by any stretch of imagination. 40's,50's and 60's movies, that's acting.

That wasn't acting The real acting was back in the Shakespeare days when women were played by men...now that's real acting.

Add Star Trek: The Next Generation to my list.
-
Almost none. Quit paying for cable when it clicked that my subscription helped pay for the slavery propaganda. When my rabbit ears don't work next spring I guess I'll miss the local round-table newsy type show on the PBS channel but that's it.

You'll just need to get an OTA HD adapter and you'll be able to recieve HD over the air for free.
-
i dont watch tv, but i do use the internet to watch some tv shows, like star trek: tos and the simpson, family guy futurama, etc.
but even then, its not very much.
-
I went with 1-2 hours per day. I also frequently keep my TV on while I'm doing other stuff like cooking or cleaning and not actually watching it or paying attention, so I don't count that.

I do the same with streaming radio. It's fun to get tunes blasting throughout the whole house.
-
I don't have a TV or cable. I use my landlords TV to play videogames sometimes, much more fun. Sometimes I see funny TV clips on Digg.com, though.

I do that too...but my "house" is one room.
I just realized I have the TV on and have no idea what I'm "watching"...

I remember my studio days as well.
Trying to sleep with a girl in a twin sized bed....oh yeah...those were the days.

Add Degrassi: The Next Generation to the list. I'm sentimental because I've been watching it since I was in the 7th grade.
-

Good Beatles song, but the pianist is really screwing over the singers.
-
Absolutely way too much. I am trying to do more outside and less watching TV, but it is a hard habit to break. The house seems weirdly silent when it's off, so I leave it one even if I am doing other things.
-
Try spending less time at home.
-
Ever since I moved out of my parents 10 years ago, I've never had cable. However, I do watch some shows on Hulu when I run and get movies from Netflix. Commercials and the news are so filled with propaganda and idiocy it just ends up pissing me off. So I try to avoid it as much as I can.
-
Its a big sexy plasma.
I think the real question is, why the hell am I here as much as I am? I could be watching the greatest films ever filmed in bone-shattering sound, every single day.
