As the poll says: Have you ever called into the show?
-
<--- Josh in Kentucky.

I've called 4 times. I haven't called in a long while. I need too.

A couple of times but I get cut off because I don't agree with Ian about the Libertarian Party. Tried to explain about what happened at the National convention. Ian wanted to go on a rant about how he had abandoned the Libertarian Party in favor of the free state project. I think I got all of 15 seconds of air time. I not interested in calling in because while more often than not, I agree with Mark, Ian is in control of the switch and limited government Libertarian views are forbidden. Now if you are an anarchist call on in you will get all the time you need.
Also, I don't like the fact that he pushes women first. As a woman and getting bumped to the front of the line only means I am less likely to get as much time as those who are waiting in line. I think Ian is considerate of the fact that they have been patient and that is another factor in cutting women off quickly.
Lastly, I really don't think I have a voice that translates to radio very well so it might not be all Ian and I am willing to take some responsibility. But I have also noticed this trend in quick to hang up on women who are not in lock step with Ian. Unless of course they are completely nuts and he can make fun of them, people who are and the verge of being fascist ie Paula.

No.

Have you tried sending emails?
-
No.
Lies!
Mmmmmaybe...

Bullshit.
Ian only pushes them in SELF-DEFENSE if they push first!
:P

Nevar.

<---- Brent in Kansas City. (obviously)

Only once (so far). The show starts quite early out here on the left coast, and I'm usually not home from work until the show's more than halfway over - so I usually just listen to the prior day's show in its entirety.
The one time I called, I was "Robert from Oregon".
-
I used to e-mail. But I'm short on time, especially during the time when the show is live. Right now I'm doing all the laundry I own, eating dinner (yes, it's late - but I haven't been home that long), and watching a soap opera. I have no life, so I need uber-fake life.
-
Sadly the Show is at 2:00 - 4:00 am CET. :( Maybe I'll send an email someday.

You know it's a three hour live show, right? :)
-
i listen live most of the time.. but I really have nothing to say..
it would probably come out as incoherent ramblings.

Not in Europe.

Europe is so advanced, they can fit three hours into two!

Metric hours are 100 minutes.

Revolutionary France actually did introduce "decimal clocks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decimal_time)", but they were incredibly unpopular.

I think my brain is crying.

I call in even though I don't listen live. I tried the live feed one time and those GCN commercials made me want to slit my wrists.
I do like that one live read, though, about the full-orbed approach to account recovery - quite a novel concept.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot does "full-orbed" mean?
-
No. Hate the phone. I email as mbd. Recall the classic scene with Sidney Greenstreet and Humphrey Bogart in The Maltese Falcon:
Fat Man: You're a close-mouthed man?
Spade: No, I like to talk.
Fat Man: Better and better. I distrust a close-mouthed man. He generally picks the wrong time to talk and says the wrong things. Talking's something you can't do judiciously unless you keep in practice. Now, sir. We'll talk, if you like. I'll tell you right out. I'm a man who likes talking to a man who likes to talk.
Spade: Swell!

Good to see I provided you with a good laugh. :D

I've called in twice at what was about 1:30 or 2am for me (both times after having returned home from the pub). The second time though I could barely hear what was being said because there was some recording being played at the same time, so I haven't bothered to call again. I usually listen via podcast anyway.
-
I've never had a reason to call in.
I don't listen live because I don't like the commercials and I like to be able to pause and come back if I want.
