I keep a .45 in the nightstand, and a .38 in the car.

I've considered getting a concealed carry permit, but i'm not sure i'm ready for the responsibilty of walking around armed all the time.   God bless the ones who do though. :)

Currently I have 2 firearms

1 - 12 Ga. Shotgun (home protection)
1 - .30-30 Rifle for woodchuck removal

When I move to NH I am buying a handgun and a holster.

What responsibility is that?

I am scared of that too, but have considered it... I'm afraid of the safety turning off and then I shoot myself or something.

Be afraid of pointing it and killing someone...or getting killed for pointing it at someone.  The most important "safety" is your mind.

thanks!

hopefully things work out better today than last wednesday. i showed up exactly at 6-pm (the time the detectives quoted me when i originally requested the forms), and they told me that they changed their mind and werent accepting apps and fingerprinting that night because the guy that processes everything was on vacation. they advised me to call ahead of time because sometimes "things happen".

the easiest things are never easy.

You have to do all that where you live?
I just walked into the gun shop, the guy did a check on the phone for ten minutes, then I walked out with my gun.

That's how it works here too--'cept last time they screwed up and denied me.  Had to write a letter, to which the response was "We were wrong.  You can get your gun."  Fascists!

for NJ, i need to fill out:
1. consent for mental health records search
2. general town application
3. application for firearms purchaser ID
4. application to purchase a handgun

looks like im not doing it today anyway.

i called them and they told me not to bother coming down because the guy that handles it is still on vacation. come next wednesday.
this is just slightly irritating.
