Global Warming?
« on: April 06, 2007, 07:26:07 PM »

Basically, I was watching Fox News on my parent's television, which my dad usually has on and I cringed at the hype bullshit that was spewed on that channel about the 'reality' of global warming. In the end, the evidence is starting to point toward Sol, our nearest star, being the cause of Global Warming and not human carbon emissions. I'm quite fearful that if the continued hype is taken seriously many millions will die due to it. I believe it's time to make a stand against it and to save our own asses from these morons.

What say you?

You need another option:  "Real, but probably a combination of man-made and natural causes and there's not much we can realistically do about it anyway."

It's warming, alright--and has been doing so for the past few thousand years or so.

The idea that there is some "perfect" temperature for the earth, and that it never changes, is silly.

I hope that it's real, at least partially man made and staving off the next very overdue ice age.

As the state feeds off of the limitation and destruction of legitimate government, anarchy is its essence.

To claim "economic rent" from someone Else's labor when applied to land, which is something no one can own outright, is in itself, to claim landlord status over raw nature. It is an attempt at coercive monopoly power that is at the root of statism.

Mark, don't we all. I mean the ancient Greeks were literally fed on the back of a three thousand year long warm period, much warmer than what we enjoy today.

The weirdest thing is how people are so upset about the earth warming. Isn't warming so much better than cooling? A scorching earth to me sounds much better than one covered in glaciers.

I disagree. I'd much rather have an ice-world, filled with ice buggies and ice vampires and shit like that. It's my dream.

Isn't it easier to heat things up than cool them down?
