Are you seriously gonna try to suggest that people not knowing who that woman is has anything to do with her place in the FSP?

Is that what you're saying?

Hey, you're the one who claims that people were ever aware of 2006, and claims that her viewpoint of the FSP shutting it's doors as a plan was every held by anyone else.

WAT # 3:

"Donna Delacruz, Associated Press:
"What happens if within 5 year you do not get the 20,000 people to move to New Hampshire?"

Jason P Sorens, President and Founder of FSP:
"If we don't get 20,000 by September 2006, then people don't necessarily, they aren't held to their obligations for signing up. So, many have said they are going to move whether or not we reach 20,000 and our current projections show that we will reach 20,000 by 2006. So, if we don't meet the 20,000, the movement may fold into some other form, though it looks as if we will.""

WUT #4:

http://web.archive.org/web/20030812172804/www.freestateproject.org/faqs.htm

"Q. What is the time frame for the Free State Project?
A. The Participation Guidelines state that a signature on the Statement of Intent becomes void, and must be renewed by the signer, if three years pass before we reach 5,000 members and select the state. The Participation Guidelines also state that once we reach 20,000 members, everyone has five years to move to the selected state. The Participation Guidelines do not specify a requisite time period between reaching 5,000 members and reaching 20,000 members. However, the assumption has always been that if 20,000 is not close at hand within five years of the launch of the Free State Project (officially September 1st, 2001), the Project will fold. To get 20,000 signers by September 2006, we will need approximately 15 new signatures per day on average. In the month of September 2002 we averaged 7 new signatures per day, while in August and October we have averaged about 20 signatures per day, compared to 4 per day in February and below 1 per day before then. As we continue to expand our publicity and advertising efforts, a constant average of 15 per day should be well within reach.

That was from the press conference on 10/01/03  in NYC when NH was announced as the state that was picked.

Last time I checked,  that part of the press conference was edited out of the videos hosted on the FSP site (http://www.freestateproject.org/archives/state_vote/AnnounceNHPressConferenceVideos/).

I have the whole press conf. on video. Here is the full 290 MB mpeg video.
The quote is at  14:10-15:00

Just the quote wmv, around 2 MB

Why would the FSP edit that out?

One of the many FSP BOD members who resigned because they knew too much.

Subject:     (Fwd) Resignation from FSP Board

To the FSP Board of Directors, Organizers, Members and other interested parties;

Effective March 1, 2004 I am resigning the following positions:
Member of Free State Project's Board of Directors
Member of the Organizers List
Project Director, the Quill
Forum moderator

In order to forestall any questions, I'll make the following statement. When I agreed to serve on the Board in September 2003, in the wake of the resignations of Directors Ricketts and Mckinstry, I agreed to serve until May 2004 without resigning, unless the Board changed its position and decided to again seek govt' 501©(3) status, which I considered dangerous and inappropriate for the FSP, and would resign if such an application were filed.  As you know, the Board recently voted first at a meeting Feb.15 at which 3 Directors were present, and which was, in my opinion, illegally called; then reaffirmed this vote at a second meeting Feb.22, at which all 5 Directors were present, by a vote of 3-2, to appoint Amanda Phillips as president, and, to seek c3 funding in order to be able to pay the president $50- 60K a year, (without a budget even being passed) neither of which were,in my opinion, in the best interests of the mission of the FSP. But, in addition, the manner in which the meetings were called, the votes were taken and the expressed desires of some Organizers that the dissenting Board members should change their vote or abstain in order to present the appearance of unity, was distasteful.  I was planning to resign when the C3 application was filed. However, recent events have precipitated my resignation to be effective March 1.

The announcement "in passing" on Feb. 28 that Elizabeth McKinstry had allegedly turned over her National Media Rep duties to Amanda Phillips on Feb.11,2004, with the apparent agreement of Acting President Doug Hillman without notifying the Board or Organizers, though Elizabeth's name and title remained on the website, as well as several other actions including a "policy" concerning removal of the "non responding non voters" from the member rolls (with no vote requested from the policy making body, the Board) my growing disinclination to support the policy of "ignoring" the western free state movements, coupled with the appointment of Amanda Phillips despite 2 Board members' reservations about her past performance and her resume, plus the resignation Feb.29 of Director Amanda Maxwell, who I hold in the highest regard and respect, which was responded to by the Board Chair with not even a "thank you for your service" has led me to the conclusion that I too no longer wish to have my name associated with the FSP "leadership" in its current configuration and direction. My support for the original concept of the FSP as a last ditch attempt to see if one state can  be "freed" through the electoral system remains intact, as do my individual associations with the many friends and associates I have made in the FSP.

Please therefore remove my name from the Board of Directors, Organizers, and the Quill, and any associated duties or perceived duties.

Thank you.

    • NH Liberty Alliance

First I've heard of her by name; certainly not the first person to be all pissy because 20,000 libertarians could not be found by Sept 2006 to move to NH and is taking it out on the FSP.

I see a whole lot of bitching from that faction, not a whole lot of getting shit done.
For the record, I see precious little "getting shit done" from the FSP Board of Directors, either.

I do see a hell of a lot of stuff happening by the activists in NH. I know there are activists doing "things" all over the world, but I can really see the synergistic effects here in NH.

Case in point, last weekend I was handing out FSP flyers in Boston, to the people going to their "end the MA income tax" rally. One of the people there told me his dream was to get a FIJA bill introduced into the legislature. I told him in NH we put up that bill every 2 years, and sometimes it passes the House, and it's pretty much a matter of time before it passes the Senate, and a group of people in at least 1 town (maybe more than that) pass out FIJA literature to jurors on a weekly basis.

It's the difference between one person yelling into the wind, vs. a movement.

Blackie, your quote from Sorens is still meaningless... even repeated in video form. So, the FSP 'folded into another form'... so what? Big deal...

Like he said, many if not MOST signers committed regardless of any 2006 deadline (which, I think I am very easily proving a great many people never even heard of such a thing) The fact that so many people never even HEARD of the 2006 deadline, is proof that bringing it up as thought it's some sort of great big issues, is just an irrelevant attempt by pessimistic negative douche bags to push off their personal baggage and issues onto the FSP.
