If simply having a woman on the air is enough to improve ratings than you'd think that there would be a lot more effort by radio and TV to get women on the air.

It would be nice to hear more female voices. It would be nicer to have someone on with more grounding in philosophy and history. Much as I like them, the boys often mess up on their facts.

How many more co-hosts does the show need?  What difference does it make whether they are women or not?

I think it's like with Skeptic's Guide to the Universe-- women who are knowledgeable on the subject and can speak eloquently about it are so rare that it gets guys hot to listen to one.   :)
I like women.

I really have to agree with this one right here.

I think a small-government women who is openly feuding with Ian would make the show much better. Someone who acts like Ayn Rand for example.

What about Gard?  He seems to be on the fence to me.  Although I haven't heard his stance laid out clearly, he seems to reference the constitution a LOT.     Correct me if I am wrong please.

Gard would often reference the constitution before quickly adding that it 'doesn't go far enough to protect (his) liberty' and highlighting how that's why he is now an anarcho-capitalist.

Well, on his own show that's what he does, anyway.

As for more women? The answer is ALWAYS 'HELL, yes!'  :D

 8)

I was imagining one of the (rare) co-hosts only shows (for example, when Mark and Ian are away) with Julia and another chick.

That would rule!

Sam Gunn (since nobody got Admiral Naismith)

Gard and  Torgo would rock pretty hard.

I remember the Johnson and Torgo shows, those were hilarious, but I think Johnson has gotten too uptight lately.  At least that's what my impression was the last time I interacted with him (6 months+ ago)

After hearing Ian openly feud with Mark a few times, can you see any woman wanting to sign up for that?

You might.  I've known a few women that would be able to cut Ian down pretty damn quickly.

Oh, sure, but that wouldn't matter.  Cutting somebody down doesn't prevent them from drowning you out by yelling, forcibly changing the subject, or just out and out being a jerk.  All of which Ian has been known to do.

I don't think it matters. I'm not sure if it's the way the show runs or the personalities of the co-hosts, but unless there are only two co-hosts who speak up enough for me to even think they affect the show all that much. And one's good and the other I don't like, so they sorta cancel each other out.
