I used my actual name but a fake address to sign up for the cards. I now have a growing collection: Stop & Shop, Ingles, Kroger.

"Sorry, I don't have it with me" gets me about 50% of the time, so its a wash.  Some places where they absolutely insist on the card, like Wegmans, I just don't go there.  You can take a real bath in some of those places when ALL their products sales are only on the card and the other choices are jacked up to make their shit look cheap.

I use a card once in a great while, when they have "ten for ten" sales, I'll stock up.  With a card account I have at a certain store, but rarely use.

When I know I'll save a pretty good chunk, I use it, but I don't use it for everyday buying.  I know if my stuff will ring up much cheaper, and if its only fifty cents or a buck, I don't volunteer the info.

--

I got all pissed off at WalMart today, ringing up my own shit.  This crabby old black bitch come stomping over to help me ring the shit up, because it was giving me static about putting electronics in a bag, and I told her they should knock seven bucks off my purchase, because I'm doing the work of a cashier for a fuckin hour trying to ring up my own shit.

I experienced self-checkout just once at ACME - hated it.  I guess others did too, because those lanes disappeared a few weeks after they appeared.  I guess they could be a segway to more security measures: RFID, enforced customer identity verification, video cameras, then down the road biometrics, etc...

Self-checkout at Wal-Mart is crap, because the thing wigs out if it thinks you didn't put the item in the bag.  IT NEVER THINKS YOU'VE PUT THE ITEM IN THE BACK.  And it wants somebody to come over and ID you for certain things that you shouldn't have to be ID'd for (Don't know about alcohol or cigarettes), and when you try to delete something from the checkout summary, they want the person watching the shit to come punch in a code.  It fucking sucks, because there usually isn't a grumpy old black bitch watching.

Furthermore, that shit on the door they've installed that screams at you when you walk out with some sort of electronic item annoys me.  It sends the old man at the door in to cardiac arrest trying to chase after you because nobody can hear what the door is screaming, and then when the old man finally gets there, he has a seizure because he sees my boobs all over the place.

Someone in NH should start a privacy shopping and delivery service.  On the most basic level, it'd be for ordering stuff online: they order it for you using a credit card and mailing address that can't be traced back to you, and then relay the items and bill you.

He's busy.

And it's probably a fake name anyways...  "Alex [Jones], Libertarian Man".  Probably a narc.

Furthermore, why do strangers always talk to me in Wal-Mart?

You're just to charismatic. People can't resist speaking to you. See, I just got lured-in too.

I use the damn things, but use a trick. When I fill out the membership card, I use a fake name. They never check, I get the discount, and they get their marketing research. Also, if I start to get junk mail with THAT fake name, I know who sells their membership lists!

Who, I want names

I've actually been told that before.  It's funny, because some of the people at work tell me that people never know when I'm actually insulting them because I'm so charming when I do it.  Who knows.  I like to make friends with people, so it is true that I will pretty much say anything to anyone.
