One of the big three rallies in the US is happening in NH next week.  One of my roommates is thinking of riding his bike up there.  Anyone else going?

It's for Hardley's, right?

It is a Harley rally but I doubt you have to ride a Harley there.

Some good news for riders in NH:

HB 148, relative to federal funding for motorcycle-only roadside checkpoints, is a pro-motorcycle, anti-federal money bill that was signed by Gov. Lynch on May 16th and became law with overwhelming bi-partisan support.

http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/legislation/2011/HB0148.html

"124:15-a Motorcycle-Only Roadside Checkpoints. No law enforcement agency of the state or a political subdivision of the state may accept federal funding the purpose of which is to establish motorcycle-only roadside checkpoints."

Apparently, there is a special federal government fund for this and at least GA has already taken advantage of the money.

NY has been conducting motorcycle-only roadside checkpoints for some time, even without federal money and a related case is in the federal court system.

I started riding motor bikes since I was 16. I love the quick acceleration, and at each traffic light I get to go to the front of the line and be first away on the green light. I mainly prefer motor bikes because it can be parked just about anywhere and it is cheaper to operate.

Relating to motorcycles and New Hampshire:
http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?124976-101-Reasons-to-move-to-New-Hampshire&p=3658079&viewfull=1#post3658079

New Hampshire not only has near the least restrictive motorcycle laws in the US (no helmet required, even for kids).  Here is a map that shows NH as one of only 3 states like this.
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2010-11-16-motorcycle-helmet-laws_N.htm

NH has around the most bikers per capita

NH has near the lowest motorcycle deaths per registered bikers
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2008-03-26-bikehelmets_N.htm

NH has one of the largest motorcycle rallies in the US

Also, in response to actions that were happening in another state, a bill which prohibits the acceptance of federal funding for motorcycle-only roadside checkpoints became law in NH. http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/bill_Status/bill_docket.aspx?lsr=489&sy=2011&sortoption=&txtsessionyear=2011&txtsstatus=10

My roommate went.  He doesn't have a Harley but rode his bike up with a co-worker.  The other riders were not a problem.  However, he was going just a few miles per hour and got a ticket.  NH is one of three states without motorcycle helmet laws but it requires a windshield, goggle or glasses.  He didn't have any three of those on and while he did have a helmet on, his visor was open or something.  Therefore, a horrible cop gave him a ticket.  I don't know all of the details but from what he told me, it seemed like a BS ticket that the town is using to increase revenue.  Maybe this is related to the recession in the US or the big tax cuts happening in NH.  Maybe the cop was just a terrible person :(
