The main point is, every situations different.  If it was a big tangled mess, I think I'd just as soon skip it.  If it was more of a free-for-all swap thing, I'd probly be alright with it.  Theres no right way to answer that, except to say that kind of scene gets evaluated on a case-by-case basis...  Just like anything else.  I dont get all jazzed up or freaked out in most situations, I'd just say "Nah, I'll catch ya's later".
