Some of these things goes in cycles.  You have a population boom.  Then you have a period where population declines then at some point for some mysterious reason people start to FUCK MORE and you have another population boom.  Give it time and you'll see another increase in population.  Fucking idiots.

Ssshhh, don't try to make sense, man.

Like I said...Mother Nature is coming for you super-human scientists. Who do you think will win? Sorry...but, yer loveable cyborg-iPod race will not materialize.

Nature doesn't have feelings, thoughts, or goals as Nature has no mind.

Quote
What will materialize is Africa rotting under the sun. You fancy scientists have been PWNED, from the beginning, and you are going to stay PWNED, in the end. It's time for Nature to "clean house". It will be a sublime massacre! All that wretched trash, moaning and groaning ...and wondering why. My Mother Nature likes to see blood contrasting with the blue sky. I like to see it, too.

"Nature to be commanded must be obeyed." -- Francis Bacon (aka father of modern empiricism)

Quote
Our technology has allowed weakness to thrive. Nature does not like weakness. Mother Nature thinks that scientists are a bunch of fags. Mother Nature hates Richard Dawkins --- that's why she gave him bad teeth. Mother Nature loves me, because I am her understanding child.

1) Weakness is not what is thriving, rather it's mediocrity.
2) Being technophobic is like being scared of your own nature (meaning we're 'cyborgs' by default as we make tools and so does every other similar animal, get use to it).
3) If you want only the 'overmen' to breed, do it on your own dime, not mine. Otherwise, expect a good helping of buckshot up your ass anytime you try this shit IRL with me or my friends.

Nature IS Mind.

Prove it.

Quote
also...I watched 2 of yer latest youtube vids last night and noticed yer newly acquired limp wrists, and if you ever tried to slap me those those IRL, I would respond with the limpest wrist you've yet to imagine......................................................bitch!

LOL, ad hom doesn't prove anything, n00b.

If the "outside world" is anything other than "Mind".....then the "mind" would not be able to process and receive that "outside" information.

You forget your senses are not part of your mind. Also, there are non-mind carrying/attributed entities out there that operate well without one. Therefore, your argument is epic fail, dude. Please go back to grammar school and study physics.

The physical universe is merely Mind in it's most solidified state.
That's an assumption that you have to prove.

Quote
If we can figure out how to melt or heat up this "mind", then we will be able to produce amazing things. The "senses" are still mind, because everything is mind. For example....when yer lame ass philosophy professors (whom you seem to worship) are sucking on some black dude's cock....that's mind manifesting itself on the "hard level".
More assumptions you have to prove and ad hominens you HAVE TO STOP USING IF YOU WANT TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY.

Quote
The goal is to transform the hard mind to something softer, so we could be able to play around with it in countless ways. In a sense, we are already doing this, as we have figured out how to melt things into swords that we can use against our enemies....and so forth.
Again, more assumptions, no proof.

Quote
When we figure out how to soften perception, then maybe that will be called "transhumanist". You current trashumanists are relying on inferior greed-based technology that will come with lots of bugs, "upgrades" ...and disasters over yonder. If we can figure out what temperature that perception will begin to melt, then we will be free.
Nope, more assumptions, more insults, no proof.

Here's the problem with your argument so far. You have made unsupported assumptions, baseless insults, and generally haven't constructed anything useful. Basically, you're acting like an irrational  being for what it's worth. The funnier thing is, that I believe you when you state them that you believe in them, and that's a sad situation, friend. If the Universe is mind, then you should able to live without food, water, and shelter; becoming impervious to the elements of space and time. If you can do these things under a controlled experiment, I'm all game. Until then, you're just another irrational person screaming at the mountain to move. And that mountain will not move.

Also, transhumanism has nothing to do with becoming some god-like figure. Rather it's a general attitude that technology has served humankind for its entire existence and will continue to do so at a more imitate level as we become more or less [explicitly] cyborgs. If that scares you, I'm sure you're not the first nor the last as even people were scared of airplanes and cars. New things stimulate two possible responses: curiosity or fear. The latter has kept the species from getting gobbled up by the big toothy grins of predators, but it has also kept us from finding new ways to live, so it is the work of the former to shake us our of fear addled mindsets to survive better than we have survived in past. Richard, you're stuck in the fear mindset when there is no predator's toothy grin to gobble you up, you need to switch back over to curiosity and explore the options that are unfolding before you as sooner or later you will have to live or you will have to die (by your own hand, and by your own fear).

Even though you say that I'm being irrational, it still sounds like you like what I am saying, and that you think it's possible. I've given various examples as to why the physical universe is mind in a array of soft to hard states of density. There are countless examples to show this.
Then show them.

Quote
We already know how to transform some of these states of density into hard and soft things....but how far can we take things? I have a sneaky suspicion that nature already has the capabilities to do what I think can be done on a more massive scale, and that nature will do it when the conditions are ripe. If the physical universe is not mind, then what is it? How could mind interact with something that is not mind? It' cant. If mind is interacting with the physical universe, it's because there is a relationship of properties that allows for this interaction to take place. If there was no relationship, then there would be no interaction.
Again, proof? No proof implies there's no basis for your argument.

Quote
If mind is typically regarded as "soft", then it should have it's "hard" opposite, and many levels in between. In Reality, Mind is soft to hard, and hard to soft. If the opposite of the physical universe is the "mind", which is most people think, then it's not irrational to think that it's all still Mind.
Yes it is if there's no proof of Idealism then there's no proof that the mind is anything more than a pattern recognition system.

Quote
And..... I don't really fear technology....I just don't think humans are smart enough to make exceptional technology that compares to Nature's technology. Nature isn't even showing us the full extant of its superior technology.
Nature has no technology as it is not a person, nor finite, nor mortal. And so on. You need to stop blatantly trolling and shut the fuck up.

Idiocracy.

Exactly.  Stumbled across this film again, and it seems to ring more true than anything else--at least the intro:

Intro to the movie Idiocracy

Still think it's one of the best intros, and possibly movie ideas, ever.  Too bad the movie was (at least in my mind) "unsatisfying," overall.
I agree with every statement in your post.  Excellent plot idea, but of course I felt like an idiot watching it, I think you're supposed to though.

This is the problem thread.

"Childless Tax" is the solution thread.

But that documentary is still worth seeing.

Something weird is going on.  My post quoted by atomiccat above has vanished!  Did its lameness cause it to collapse upon itself?  Did it fall into the gap between page 2 and page 3?  I didn't delete it, and it still appears in my post history...  Have the almighty mods made it invisible?
