Pros :

- Gain tens of thousands of extra hours over the course of a lifetime of non sex + masturbation
- Less time spent, more dignity gained from not having to filter through swathes of idiots in order to find someone who actually wants to fuck me
- Clearer thought due to lack of hormones/sex drive
- No chance of me ruining my life with a wife + kid/s combo
- Get to carry my balls in a jar/make real truck nuts
- Less chance of heart problems due to less testosterone
- Don't have to be frustrated with lack of sex

Cons:

-Lose masturbation as a free past time
-Possible mental hormonal problems
-Possible physical hormonal problems
-Social stigma of being a ball-less freak
-Surgery and/or expensive chemical treatments
-Harder to maintain muscle mass without testosterone
-Don't get to have sex again

I've always been rather skeptical of the amount of time dedicated to sex and the pursuit of it, having made some questionable choices  myself in terms of who I've spent time with just for a lay, all in all my life so far probably would have been alot better had I remained in a prepubescent state of sexual apathy.

If that asexual guy/gal is still on this forum I'd be interested to hear their opinion on the matter.

I could still please humans fine, just in ways that actually have more thought to it than a biological mechanism we evolved to have merely to continue the species.

If I could simply turn off the part of the brain that makes me care about sex I would have done it along time ago, and if it wasn't for the host of physical and mental problems that can occur with castration, plus the permanency of the whole thing I would have done that along time ago, but right now I don't have the balls (or the cash) and I'm holding out on a solution that doesn't involve massively altering my mind and my physiology.

Worth has nothing to do with complexity. People only fuck because hormones dictate it.

 Now we only do anything because of our brain chemistry, but at least in making a piece of music or inventing something there is a level of conscious thought and creativity that in my eyes makes it worth while and lasting. For all the hyperbole and hysteria, you might as well be rubbing elbows than fucking in every sense other than how the chemicals can make you feel and desire.

People will put up with horrible character flaws that they wouldn't take in a "friend" but throw in nebulous feelings of love and an inherited sense of meaning and people do and say all kinds of things that they are only doing because of a chemical feeling that they are largely unaware of and most often fail to separate from conscious thought and abstract concepts.

With the right cocktail of chemicals I can be "in love" with an apple, I can want to fuck a tire iron, I can see beauty in a pile of shit.

Now until more is learned about the nature of consciousness and qualia, I can't say for certain that there is any more value in a book or a conversation than an hours fucking, but it certainly seems that way, especially since we imitate so much of the automaton behavior of our animal ancestors in this respect.

Just because fucking feels good and you're (biologically) meant to want to do it doesn't mean you shouldn't question it.

I don't think fucking is wrong, I just think if I could have my mind installed in a computer I wouldn't waste a second of my time rubbing or thrusting any part of my body into anyone elses body if I didn't have a shitfull of hormones in my body.

Also, from a practical point of view, it tends to cause more problems than its worth, especially for the teen pregnancy/AIDS crowd, although thats not my reasoning for it.
