Breakfast?
« on: November 12, 2007, 07:38:23 AM »

Didn't used to be a big fan of breakfast. Now, my whole day is off without it.
Berries, banana, yogurt & granola w/ sunflower seeds is my normal morning fare.

If I eat breakfast, it's always after I start my day (after my first class etc.) Of course, I try hard not to ever get up before ten.  Also, I have such a hard time waking up that I rarely have time to eat before I have to function for the first time that day.

I skip it on weekends because I sleep in and have a small breakfast of a coffee and a slice or two of toast on weekdays.

"Yes. It's the most important meal of the day." <--- For me, only thing is I don't normally eat it on the weekdays because I like to have a big breakfast  bacon or sausage and eggs or an meat and cheese-lovers omelet and toast with coffee or tea. I really should eat some kind of breakfast on the weekdays but I don't.

I usually don't eat it.  Of course, a lot of the time I don't eat lunch or dinner either.

You're forcing a "mom moment" on me, Lindsey. Skipping a meal is one thing, but not having any official meals is not good. You should try regular meals, even if they're small ones, or hours off the "normal" meal times. You're doing horrible things to your metabolism.

I had a homemade honey raisin bran muffin today. And I finished my beer from last night. Yum.

What? It was an $8 bottle of beer. I wasn't going to let $4 of it go to waste.

You won't catch me making breakfast unless it's for someone else.  Mainly my girls.  My hours are so screwed up I'll be found at 5 am eating chinese food, but not at nine eating eggs.  I only eat an actual breakfast when I go out to a diner.  I consider my "wake-up food" to be coffee and an english muffin.  If I bother.

You had me at berries and lost me at sunflower seeds. I mean, I like them but for breakfast? That's just wrong. :)

I toss sunflower, pumpkin seeds, pecans or walnuts on almost everything I eat. Hot food gets pine nuts or almonds.
I have had to up the fat content of my food lately. As a bonus, all the extra zinc I get should also boost my immune system during cold & flu season
