aeon flux looked stupid. is it worth watching

It was worth it, if only to see Charlize Theron in spandex.
or if you're really into vampire movies

You're confusing Aeon Flux

Actually they are both in the spandex genre, which I'm glad to see developing as a trend.

An Inconvenient Truth is science fiction?

Damn right it is.

aeon flux looked stupid. is it worth watching
its better if you dont have to pay for it

No, even then it isn't worth it.  It really is extremely painful to watch.

Serenity hands downs

I managed to sit through Aeon flux on a plane (but I was drunk at the time)

I went off on this around here somewhere, but I'll do it again, because I am redundant.

In the early '90s, MTV had a thing called Liquid Television, one of its shorts was Aeon Flux and it rocked my balls off.

It was a cartoon.  I'm sure the series was presented in full elsewhere, but thats where I caught it, in vignettes.

No!  Oh, yes.  A cartoon, you say?  Indeed, thats exactly what I'm saying.  Hypocrite!

It turned me on a little.

YOU BASTARD!

I highly, highly reccomend Children of Men. The trailers make it looks kind of mamby-pamby, if you will, but they fail to fully represent the movie (obviously).

Extreme chaos is what this movie is all about. From the start to the end, the chaos and panic never cease. The movie executes the depiction of such chaos and panic, that can instill viewers with such feelings. In peaceful, quiet moments of the movie, one inevitably must wonder "what's the next step?".
The action in Children of Men (hereafter referred to CoM) is absolutely wonderful. The camera focuses primarily on the main characters through the entire movie, and many action scenes are transitioned into without warning or a clear break in the mood. One action scene takes place on the road, and the camera simply turns and focuses on developing threats. The violence in CoM is depicted with amazing skill and consideration. Though the violence is not gory, and not overly bloody, it is jarring the core. It feels very, very realistic.
Children of Men boasts extremely well exectuted action scenes, a believeable, gritty, and detailed setting,  and an excellent pacing of downtime between action. Bottom line: See it.

I think I would have enjoyed Serenity anyway, but having watched the series (numerous times) beforehand really hooked
me up with some background stuff, and I could watch the movie as an 'insider' of sorts.

We watched Astronaut Farmer last weekend, and it was pretty durned good.
