My favorite beer is home-made. Mine, others, no difference. My buddy made a batch of kidney scouring porter a few weeks ago. Good schtuff.

I have to agree about the home-brew stuff. There used to be a place in town where you could go and make your own, then bottle it. After a couple weeks, you went and picked it up. They had a thick recipe book. We usually brewed up a few gallons of knock-your-socks-off stout, and it was better than anything you'd find in a pub. I still have cases of empty bottles downstairs--alas, all of them empty. Unfortunately, the brew kitchen went out of business, a victim of city/county/state laws and taxes.

Mmmmmm......Whooskey. I'll be there. Hate to add more options BUT......

Have you tasted Old Speckled Hen? If you haven't, you should. Your opinion may be different afterwards. ;)

Never heard of it. Must be an East Coast thing. One more thing to look forward to when I get to NH. I won't forget the name.

I had a Barbados dark rum when I was in Bermuda called Cockspur. It was the best I've ever had. Haven't seen it in any stores here ever. I think it may be a U.K. import only.

since my personal favorite, McLaren's Scotch Ale (a micro-brew at a local bar) is not available i had to go with my second favorite, guinness.  although i really don't understand you people comparing bass (a pale ale) to guinness (a dry stout based off a porter).  it just doesn't work.  you should really start with favorite type of beer and then go to different brands of beer within that type.  for example, if i am craving a glass of water i will drink a budweiser.  if i said something dirty and need my mouth washed out with soap then pbr me asap.  if there are werewolves around i'll go with coors light.

now, where is the champagne of beers, miller high life?
and what about the numberous others, for examply:  strohs, old milwaukee, icehouse, anything made by molson, labatt, dos equis, peronni, thirsty dog brewing company beers, great lakes brewing company beers, yuengling, and the numerous other brews you can find boths imports and domestic?

It's an English Ale. It's available in a lot of package stores in New England. Too expensive in most places.  :x

Boddingtons is awesome. I like a white ale called hoegaarden as well, a little spicey and smooth to boot.

Lol...yes, that means it's good.

If you're ever dealing with marijuana, just remember that 'dank' is excellent, 'chronic' is better, and 'schwag' is shit.

Boddingtons is very good too.  But I prefer Murphey's or a Guinness Stout.  I always  like them really cold, but when I went to England all the pubs had them warm.  But for some reason it still tasted good.  I guess they had a slightly different brew out there.

Actually the guinness is different over here. Not much difference, but a lot of countries have different alcohol content.

The best non-homebrew beer I ever had was Cooper's Extra Stout:

I haven't seen it outside of Australia, but it's fuckin gorgeous.

I can not stand Boddingtons, it has no flavor. My second favorite beer is Newcastle, delicious stuff.

The list ought to be restricted to those beers one can get in most places, rather than micro brews with limited availability. In other words, what would you order if you were a thousand miles from home, and all that was available is what's on the list?

For me, Guinness, although there are some other pretty good ones listed.

i was sitting in a local mexican restaurant once when one of the finer members of the redneck clientelle asked one of the mexicans, "ya'll got any pbr?"  the mexican gentelman looked at the redneck with a look of "que?" upon his face.  the redneck repeated, "pbr, pabst blue ribbon, ya'll got any?"  naturally they did not, but damn was it funny.
