If Wal-Mart ran a beach, it would be exactly like Myrtle Beach, SC. Drove through it last week and found it to be the trashiest beach I've ever seen..

Not a fan. I seldom go, and then only to look at the swimsuits.

Sand is a shitty fucking material, I completely don't get the beach experience.

Bill hicks sums it up better than I ever could.

I hate the beach. Sand gets in my crotch. And sunburns.

I would go for a paved beach with refrigeration cooled concrete and tons of umbrellas.

The beach is why I'm in California!

The ocean water beats the nasty chlorine pool that burns your eyes and dries out your skin.

Oh, yeah--there's just nothing like the smell of rotting fish.

I hate the beach too.  I'd much rather swim in a pool, though I have to be able to pretty much at the very least completely rinse myself off with fresh water right after I get out.

Your going to the wrong beaches, man.

I used to live in Southern California.

I took the second option, but I'd much rather not have anyone around who I don't know.

I like the idea of the beach. Having an ocean close by (about 2 miles) give me the sensation of a boundary. I sometimes enjoy the walk on the boardwalk. Sometimes walking on the sand and hearing nothing but the pounding surf. Sometimes actually the day at the beach with a campfire at night. Mostly the idea though. I pretty much have to work all of the time to be able to afford to live around here.

Side note. Wife and child went to the beach today with cousins - a little beach in a cove. When the earthquake hit she says she didn't feel it, but saw rocks tumbling down the hillside. They packed up and went elsewhere.

I feel uncomfortable in a swimsuit, so the fewer people that are around (i.e. NONE IN MY FUCKING BACKYARD WHERE MY POOL IS), the better.

I feel uncomfortable being naked around other people (in groups, that is), so I don't need that much privacy. I just don't like crowds.

Wow.. and some of ya who don't like the beach are in FL right? Well- go to Sebastian Inlet and find a spot called Spanish House. Been years sine I was there, but it used to be fairly empty and a little remote.

I can't do without the beach.. sadly I'm a few hours away though.

I live in Florida, and I wish there wasn't such a thing as the beach.

Well, it makes me pretty much miserable.  I don't like being in a swimsuit, and I get burned very easily because my skin is so fair.  Sweating is gross, sand all over me and in my hair is not fun, and the smell kind of makes me want to puke.  Also, I despise hot weather.  I think they should build an air-conditioned tunnel from the parking lot to the mall door so that I don't have to go outside.

I fare a little better at night though.  I won't throw a fit and have a cow if someone wants to go to the beach at night.  As long as I can just sit on a picnic table or on a blanket or towel on the sand and not get the water on me, I'm good.
