Yeah, I've never liked advertising in the middle of forums, but that's the only effective place to put it. Not that the ads would get clicked on often (they have to be clicked to make money), they just prove annoying to the users. Most forums don’t even blend them into the design either which makes them more annoying.

I can’t see the show making that much money from forum advertising either, it’s seems quite pointless, especially so if it annoys the users at the same time.

Although, if they'd like to annoy the general, non-AMPing population somehow, I'd be cool with that.  I don't know how they'd block them for AMPlifiers, but as long as I'm not annoyed by shit in between my posts, I'm cool.

That's not a bad idea - Make the ads as annoying as possible and make people pay for them removing. It's Genius with a capital g.

People tell me I have a pretty business-savvy head.  I don't know...it's just logical to me.  Whatever motherfucker.

Something Awful has ads everywhere but when you buy an account (for a one-time fee of ten bucks) the ads mostly disappear.  So it's possible, I'd guess.

Yeah, I don't like the ads in the middle.  I was thinking something right next to the search bar there.  I mean, people are searching it already, what if the link helps?

Hence the "Only for non amplifiers" poll option.

Put 'em up top where I put the green boxes.  That bar can be hidden, but most people leave it up probably.

Seems like a pretty redundant question.

Advertisements are for people to make money, not to please their customers.

I don't want advertisements but its not enough to make me avoid this forum, or any significant amount of other people, so it would be smart for Ian to keep them.

They could lose the soulless stock photo bullshit though.

I'm a full on "gimme profit" capitalist. If you think it is worth it for business, do it. I personally will keep coming back here unless it is something really vile (like advertising for bethechange.org).
