Hawking plans zero-gravity flight

The British physicist Professor Stephen Hawking is to take a zero-gravity flight in a specially modified plane next month.

Professor Hawking said as someone who has studied gravity all his life, he was excited at the thought of experiencing weightlessness.

His trip is being paid for by an American firm, Zero Gravity, which normally charges $3,750 (£1,915).

It also plans to have two seats on the flight auctioned off by charities.

Professor Hawking, who uses a wheelchair and is almost completely paralysed, will be accompanied by medical staff.

He will take off in April aboard a specially modified Boeing 727 from the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida.

The plane flies to 32,000 ft (9.75km) at a steep angle and then dives 8,000 ft (2,400m) to allow passengers to experience weightlessness for 25 seconds.

As the plane climbs, passengers experience being pushed down hard, feeling 1.8 times the normal pull of the Earth.

In an e-mail interview, Professor Hawking said he wanted to encourage public interest in spaceflight.

"I also want to show that people need not be limited by physical handicaps as long as they are not disabled in spirit," he said.

Last year he spoke of how humanity needed to colonise the solar system and beyond if it wanted to survive.

Professor Hawking has already spoken about his desire to travel into space.

On his 65th birthday in January he said he hoped to take a flight on a space plane being developed by Richard Branson's company Virgin Galactic.

I know this is an old story but this question didn't cross my mind until today...

I'm talking about his motor neuron disease.
1. He's part computer
2. He's insanely smart

For me, that outweighs motor neuron disease.

I know this is tin foil hat shit, but...

I believe Hawking is a tool for some super covert race of interdimensional aliens or some group of highly advanced government black ops.

I mean, who knows what or who is in control of his speakerbox? For all we know, we could be having a discussion with Yoda. And what better way to speak amongst humans than through a parapalegic with as much credibility and notoriety as Hawking???

My crazy two cents.

I just don't want to have kids with anyone, period.  And I hate that reasoning that smart people should have kids.  Smart people can have dumb kids too.

I wonder how much his sperm would be worth on the open and unregulated market...

He'd probably be pretty high up on the Celebrity Sperm Rights Auction price index, mainly because there are lots of athletes, musicians, and prettyboys out there, but only one Lucasian Professor of Mathematics, and, far more importantly, only one man to have played himself on Star Trek!  (And single women who can afford to buy celebrity sperm are likely to be geeks.)
