I want to thank Evil Muppet for pointing out a particular flaw in thinking that is worth resisting. Saying "I can't judge because I haven't been in his shoes" suggests that it would be improper for me to judge:
Charles Manson
Bernie Madoff
Pol Pot
George Bush
Barrack Obama
Adolf Hitler
King George
Pedophile Priests
Martha Stewart
Or anyone!
I appreciate Sam's efforts in the name of liberty but it is OKAY to question his judgement. One even might say it is healthy to analyze and judge whether his brand of activism is useful, worthwhile, effective, or not.
I agree that putting others down is seldom productive when giving advice, but worshipful deference to any leader is dangerous.
