The person has already been covered in his own filth before the bath,  possibly for hours.  What is wrong with sitting in warm water dirtied by the filth for a few more minutes?  Shower a little first, and there isn't much filth anyway.

The bath is where I get loads of reading done; just lying back in the warm water, book in hand. If its a political or philosophical book, though, I get distracted and have to get out and come on line to shout some people down.

Guys really shoot themselves in the foot by declaring anything tactilely enjoyable to be "feminine" or "gay." 

Keep that sort of thing up, and you find yourself sleeping on a concrete block with sheets made of sandpaper.  It might not be comfy, but goddammit I ain't no fag!

^^^ You forgot to add no hot water either.  Real men do not need hot water.  Cold is refreshing, that's what we tell ourselves.  Warmth is a luxury no real man needs or wants.

I've slept on the floor going on about 20 years now... No pillow ever, and no "comforter or fancy blankets like them thar' women like to buy.  Yep, I'm a manly man.... no gay or effeminate in me.     I think I should get an award for that.  Who wants to send me one? 

Any guy that thinks baths are gay, and then goes on to try to explain how his comfy pillow which he sleeps on at night isn't somehow womanly.... well....
