People who go to
Dragon*Con are not worthy of being called "nerds"!
Yes, we nerds do like the sci-fi that's technologically and philosophically stimulating, and some nerds may tolerate some fantasy in a foundational mythological context (i.e. LotR), but anything touching upon "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is rubbish for drooling idiots!
I know that
popular culture likes to mix everything together, but there's a clear distinction between being "first in my class here at MIT" (nerd) and being a "champion at D&D" (brain-dead slacker)! We nerds do drink Earl Grey (or green) tea, read Stephen Hawking, have high school chess trophies, have coded Pascal in the 80s, and do overpriced ethical hacking consulting one day a week to keep from having to move back in with mom and to support our Hentai addiction. We don't use MySpace (lame!) or have Jar Jar Binks action figures!
