GOOG has gone from $740 last November down to under $450 today.
I'm sorry, destroying nearly half of shareholder value is not an admirable thing, no matter how you sliceit.

Google doesn't control the value of its stock, so I can't really put all that much blame on them based solely on the price of its stock dropping.  The whole market has gone down anyway.  What I can credit them with is their ingenuity and ability to finance many wonderful tools through internet advertising.  They've made the world a better place.

Very strange, given that a lot more people use Microsoft products than Apple or Google.  I think it's all the socialist "monopoly" bullshit that's hurting them.  :x

And interesting how FedEx continues to widen the gap over UPS.

I picked UPS, Google and Toyota from the poll options, but with the 2009, I change that.

UPS is still VERY high up there. I drive and love a Honda. I'm also incredibly happy with HP's support of open source software, their quality laptops and good customer service.

I can't stand East Asian companies, because they remind me of the fact that I've never got anywhere when I contemplated learning Japanese / Korean / Cantonese / Mandarin...

Face it.  It's their shitty product that's hurting them.  "a lot more people use Microsoft products" = Argumentum ad populum, and total bullshit.  People use M$ products because they come on their Walmart computer.

Argumentum ad populum is a logical fallacy, but we are talking about the subjective marketplace here.  The purpose of a product is to sell well, thus Microsoft products are successful.  A competitor is free to enter the global marketplace at any time to offer better software - many have tried and failed.

Different division than us.  I used to know a bit about each but I no longer work with that stuff.

Ask Steve Jobs if he thinks the purpose of the product is to sell well.
