Alternet.org progressive advocacy funded by your tax dollars
« on: January 18, 2009, 03:44:55 PM »

Alternet.org just posted an article about why we should be "screaming for more taxes."  Considering the fact that Alternet.org is funded by AFSCME, do you think that they're being objective demanding more taxes.  AFSCME and other governmental "unions" lobbied for increases in pay to cover their own members' dues increases (at taxpayer expense), while they then funnel that money into Democrat campaigns and Republican primaries (supporting only bigger spending Republicans).

Does it make sense to force the taxpayer to pay for organizations that work against the interests of the taxpayer?

I don't get these assholes.

There's nothing stopping you from mailing checks to the government.

If taxes are so great, they should lead by example and give MORE than they owe, not just whats demanded of them.

Almost everyone I know who says that we should be screaming for more taxes is trying to avoid them also. I know one guy who alternates between states to get government handouts while avoiding state taxes at all costs. Another guy actually worked the system for a living, like that was his career. There are tons of people who do that and they're the ones telling us to vote Democrat and approve every project and school levy. Fucking hippo-crates.
