I'm with Denis, except for the wife and kids part. I used to eat it a lot, but now reserve it for special occasions. I also was fortunate to come in contact with sheets and sheets. Unlike Trobinson, I liked all of my experiences with it. I only had something bad happen to me once, and it wasn't actually me, it was someone close, and it wasn't actually during the trip, but after. Used to eat it at 3 AM and drive down to South Florida and watch the sunrise on the beach. We'd spend the morning there and build sandcastles with intricate tunnel systems beneath them.

I'd say the best drug experiences I've had have been of MDMA and LSD together, some weed and nitrous in there too. That's the only thing I'd add to Denis' list. A little MDMA and a little acid go quite nicely together. The mdma really helps sand the rough edges acid can have at times.

Its not that I had bad experiences.  I did enjoy my experiences.  It was the fact that at the time I was using acid, many of my friends and family did not understand what I was going through, so I had to avoid these people during this time.  It was also the beginning of a journey which went much further down a self destructive path.  I just feel like I could have spent my time and money a bit more wisely.

I have used acid with my wife on a couple of occasions, and I think that they were great bonding experiences.

Makes sense.  The psilocybin is probably created at a certain early phase in its development and then that period is over while the shroom continue to grow.

shrooms are more visual -- you might actually "see" things. And no, you will not think aliens are out to get you unless you are psycho to start with.
Shrooms are also MUCH shorter-lasting -- 3-4 hours, not all day.
Acid has more subtle, perverse "data-processing" effects. You can quite conceivably be utterly convinced of some insane stupid shit while on acid.

I suggest starting with shrooms. In a low dose. In a safe, no-stress, positive setting.
Unless you are self-destructive and/or have mental instabilities.
Fix those first, for the same reasons you don't drive a car with dodgy steering at 100 MPH.

Holy shit, I had the EXACT same stuff. Talk to the guy about how they had laid out the acid onto the blotter in a hotel room, some hours earlier. This would have been in Milwaukee. Or Madison. Wisconsin.

Like Denis and Brasky said, shrooms are more mellow than acid, though I've had intense visuals on both. I always described acid visuals as being geometric, while shrooms are more natural. I recommend starting with shrooms. Acid trips can be long and intense, and are also more confusing than shrooms. You really need two full days to do it, one for recovery. I've had acid visuals last well over 24 hours from just one hit. That being said, it really is a unique experience, and one I wouldn't take back for anything. I have yet to notice any negative effects from all the acid I've eaten. I do, on occasion, get very mild visuals, but it's quite pleasent, unlike the "flashbacks" they describe in DARE class.

Oh, and don't eat it in public, at least not until you have done it several times. I learned to control myself while tripping, or at least I thought I was under control. As long as I was wearing sunglasses though, because I felt like everyone was staring at my enormous pupils. Spent the entire day at Disney World's Typhoon Lagoon after eating two hits of acid once. I think we only left the lazy river a few times that day,  only to go right back to it, after wandering around in a confused stupor. Trying to decipher the maps and order water at the concession areas was hard as hell, and at one point this lady yelled to someone behind us, and we convinced ourselves that she was telling us the park was closing and we had to leave.

Whatever floats your boat. Just don't get addicted to the stuff or allow it to displace all the rest of the good stuff in your life that makes life good. Personally, I don't even drink. Lifes too good, even at its worst, to waste time on dreaming. Ever tried hiking? Days worth of strange, beautiful, living here and now that you will remember forever.
