A Masters Degree in Austrian Economics

I'm currently lobbying the Ludwig Von Mises Institute and several accredited institutions to jointly offer a distance learning format masters degree in Austrian Economics.

These institutions are very interested in partnering with the institute because of the grassroots support for the Ron Paul campaign that's causing a resurgence in interest in the Austrian school of Economic thought.  The institute itself is interested because they know that iron is hot right now.

I am not able to commit to a Master's program, but I would be very interesting in extensive classes, starting with beginning Austrian economics. I am sure you will find that many people are new to the concept, and are interested in learning more. I can do it from books, but am more interested in having classes with a mentoring mindset.

Maybe there is one school that offers a degree in Austrian Economics and it is in AL.

I would love to do this, however I just left my Mathematics degree for business. However, I would love to support the creation of both BA and Masters in economics with a focus in Austrian economics. Especially if it's online.

There are no schools that I know of in NH that have Economics programs with an Austrian bent....and certainly none of them are online.  Currently, the only online Masters degree in Economics is run out of Western New England College in Mass.  It's a liberal arts college I believe, so I don't think it's a liberty loving program per se. 

What I would like to see is an online Master of Public Policy or Public Administration degree with an emphasis in Austrian Economics, a Masters degree in Austrian Economic thought and Libertarian studies and a heavy Masters Degree in Austrian Economics that includes as much quantitative theory as necessary for Austrian Economists to have the necessary skills to be professional economists. 

We need more Austrian-minded Economists, intellectuals and Public Administrators/Politicians. 

I've called New England College in Henniker, NH and asked them if they are interested in the idea of hosting an online degree in partnership with the Mises Institute that would attract lots of enrollment.

Austrian Economics is a school of thought within the field of economics.  The institute in Alabama does not offer degrees but I am trying to get it to.  They have been talking about it for years.  They just need to feel the demand some more and be made aware of some of the partnership opportunities out there.  There are lots of masters degree programs for education.  I'm sure that you can find one, even a distance format one on http://www.distance.gradschools.com.

Thanks for your interest.  I'm going to try to get a people to create a program, curriculum and somehow get some accreditation soon.  I"ll keep you posted with updates.

Ron Paul is a senior adviser to the Ludwig von Mises institute that teaches Austrian Economics.  It's the foundation of his political ideology...together with his own personal faith (that he doesn't want to cram down anyone else's throats).  If we want to build real stalwart academic and institutional support for Liberty, we need to embed Liberty Loving scholars, academics and administrators wherever we can.  This is what we do to avoid burnout.  It takes decades of planning and implementation to fundamentally change the system....and/or dismantle huge chunks of it.

Hey, just FYI...
Such and Such knows very well what Austrian economics are.  He was poking fun of your sentence construction "are there any Austrian schools in NH?" That would imply that an Austrian school had opened in NH. That's why he replied "No, the Austrian schools are in Austria."

And he'll probably mock you for this message too.  It's just his nature.  He's a nice guy...just likes to mock people.
