Mandatory microchipping in Australia
« on: April 04, 2009, 02:04:43 AM »

At first you could own pets without registration.
Then you had to register them.
Then you had to register them every year.
Then your pets are not allowed out at night.
Then you could have a limited number of pets
Then you had to desex them compulsorily.
Now you have to microchip them compulsorily.

Where will it end????????
I've been trying to get my wife to see the threat that government poses to us but she hasnt agreed in the past .After the extortion letter we got from the council she is starting to see my point. At the last council election i refused to vote for which I was threatened with a fine.
Voting is  compulsory in Australia so I was duly sent a threat from the government.

I will not be paying any fine if they send it and I will not be getting our pets damaged by microchipping them .If the council sends someone I will not let them in my property without a search warrant.

I am a responsible pet owner as I had my pets desexed and registered with the council.Well I used to think this was responsible. Now I realise how mistaken i was getting them registered.I say to hell with them.I will not be doing this abomination.

Yeah. It is refreshing to wake up from the fantasy, but you never get to go back to sleep again. You walk around through the crowds who are still asleep and mostly pretend you are one of them for the sake of safety. Once in a while to try to see if you can wake up someone else - but if you try too hard they want to swat you like you are some annoying alarm clock and have a snooze button.

You know what I mean?

Interesting that swat can = S.W.A.T.

Also, if I was to make a statement refusing to vote I might add the comment "Am not a slave".

Having your pet chipped isn't such a bad thing (except that its mandatory).  It will help you locate it if it gets out and lost and retrieved by a dog catcher.  Of course the government will probably use that useful identification technique just so they'll know where to send the fine, but at least you're far more likely to get your pet back.

Here's the problem...

If your kitty gets out, it ends up getting caught by the government Animal Control people. They then scan kitty and get your address.

Of course, I care about my kitty a lot more than I care about the bureaucrats having my "real" address. What this would do for me is eliminate any real value chipping has in terms of protecting my animal. They'd simply have to cross reference the ID chip number (which they'd require on the form) with the address on file. :(

Poor kitties.

Thanks for your replies.I have been busy trying to save our pets through the normal channels.

The dogs are registered under my wifes name and she is not prepared to do any civil disobedience. She has decided to have them put down as they are really old and keep biting the kids...even though they dont have any more teeth.I have spoken to the council and the only way to keep them is to have a vet say their health is under threat from the microchips.I would really like to post the carcasses to the mayor but realise this would be unproductive........

In future I will be getting a cat which I will get desexed but it will not be registered or microchipped. There is no way I will be incriminating us by registering the animal. If they threaten us and say we own it there will be no proof. It is a free animal that is allowed to leave anytime it chooses. It is just visiting lol.

As an example of how deeply people are brainwashed i posted my disgust about the abusive and threatening force of government on a major website in Australia and had numerous replies ranging from them wanting to have people microchipped to telling me I should be removed from the gene pool .I was also told that anyone who wants freedom is mentally unbalanced and belongs in an institution, and should be removed permanently from society. The absolute hate that people have for freedom in this country is disgusting.Research the eureka stockade and the assorted aboriginal massacres to see what happens when you say no to the nazis in the so called lucky country. When is the next boat leaving to New Hampshire and does anyone want to shelter an illegal aussie immigrant?

Maybe we need a free state project down under as there is no escape from this socialist hellhole  prison .I guess if youre going to be a slave you may as well have nice weather!

I totally agree, I might be bias but Tasmania sounds like a good option.  The only problem I have with Australia these days is that we can't carry and conceal firearms...

The only problem with that, it seems to me, is that they would then say "Oh, well, we can't have an unchipped stray wandering around" and then take it and have it put down, and you'd have no cat.

Tell them that has happened before, in Germany, and from what you recall it didn't work out so well.

This doesn't come as a surprise to me at all. Which was the major website by the way?

Hey davehollis, just a tip-- having all of that blank space at the bottom of your posts, followed by a really long signature, makes each post huge and kind of annoying to scroll though.  Just saying.
