General / On Friday my life was threatend
« on: August 02, 2009, 02:01:33 AM »
On Friday July 31 when I was on my meal break from work a transsexual who happens to be a H.I.V. + prostitute and shoplifter from my store sought me out and got in my face and told me that "I should be afraid of him and that I was lucky to be alive" I called the police and filed a report (yea I know that is all it is even though they said they would try to find him (or as I like to say it )( which has nothing to do with gender identity but with his attitude) Did I do the right thing I am going to also get a restraining order agenst (sp?) him
so if I have to defend myself I have a recored of him threating me

However....
(Here is where I found some private amusement, which I will now share)
So, it's basically even, right?
Not.
Not even close.
Because the people who selected "NO" are almost certainly not going to attend. Its a given. They have reasons, whether they be financial, other conflicting plans, its just impractical, too far, whatever.
But those who selected "YES"... Bzzt. Wrong. Half of them will not go. Right off the top. Other things will come up, plans will change, a thousand reasons.
So, you can take one or two of the Maybe's and perhaps 4 of the Yes.
As this thread gets necroed it'll rise proportionately. Right now, you have 25% of 24 votes, approx, so, maybe 5 or 6 people total.
Not 9 and possibly 4 more.

« on: September 09, 2007, 11:52:41 PM »People who go to Dragon*Con are not worthy of being called "nerds"!Buffy rules it was and is one of the best shows on tv even in reruns
Yes, we nerds do like the sci-fi that's technologically and philosophically stimulating, and some nerds may tolerate some fantasy in a foundational mythological context (i.e. LotR), but anything touching upon "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is rubbish for drooling idiots!
I know that popular culture likes to mix everything together, but there's a clear distinction between being "first in my class here at MIT" (nerd) and being a "champion at D&D" (brain-dead slacker)! We nerds do drink Earl Grey (or green) tea, read Stephen Hawking, have high school chess trophies, have coded Pascal in the 80s, and do overpriced ethical hacking consulting one day a week to keep from having to move back in with mom and to support our Hentai addiction. We don't use MySpace (lame!) or have Jar Jar Binks action figures!

« on: September 09, 2007, 11:50:56 PM »I'd only just moved away from Atlanta to go to NH but I did manage a flight for the next great Atlanta convention. You going?I probably will not go while I (this goes with out saying here) am a libertarian and have no problames with gays and lesbians I am heterosexual and do not want to put my self in a position where I will be hit on by men I have enough problems with men trying to follow me home and not respecting me when I say I am not gay which has happened 6 or 7 times in 2007 alone since I work at Ansley Mall (I can respect if not feel flattered when a guy asks me out and respects me when I say I am straight)
