General / So I Did some Last Minute Shopping...
« on: December 25, 2010, 11:22:42 PM »
Okay, so I spent a good couple of hours this week listening to how the fed is doing anything and everything they could possibly do to hide the price fixing on gold/silver to rather quickly diminishing levels of avail. I then hear about how the fed has recently pumped out over a trillion and thought to myself, "just once I wish these bastards would take their fed hats off and do this shit and then see what happens". I soon after realized that I need to make it NH for the liberty forum and then use that as my excuse to escape the oncoming zombie apocalypse to save my life. ( :?)

Then came xmas eve, when I had to do the annual procrastination gift shopping run. I then walked into a near by indoor mall and to my surprise the place was covered head to toe with people ever anxious to buy yet another big screen tv with a cup of latte, and some even to get their eyelashes flushed (oh come on!). Lines wrapped around stores and myself in ways that I'd rather leave unsaid. Interestingly enough, a Vitamin store and a jewelry store were the only stores of note not effected by the rampaging mops. A safe-zone for the sane, depending on your perspective. I then thought two thoughts to myself. One was that, "these people really don't know just how bad it's going to get, do they?" and the other, "procrastination is a bitch when everyone else does it".

We're in the eye of the storm, aren't we? I haven't gotten around to reading though Atlas Shrugged yet, but I think we're just about at the point where the productive start to follow John Gulch *cough*Jason Sorens*cough* to *cough*NH*cough*.

General / Non-violent Communication
« on: December 12, 2010, 02:45:47 PM »
What's your thoughts on it? In short, I believe that it has it's good points, it's bad points, and some seriously shitty ones. For those not in the know, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nonviolent_Communication for the short of it and if you really want to get into it,

http://completeliberty.libsyn.com/episode-126-pitfalls-of-moralizing-introduction-to-nonviolent-communication - including the show notes. Also, note that episodes 127 through 129 deal with the subject as well.

General / Game Developers Feeling Cheated About Used Game Sales.
« on: September 26, 2010, 05:57:33 AM »
So let me get this straight. Game developers and I guess publishers are upset about stores selling used games that they legitimately purchased because selling used games is a lucrative business that the developers and publishers don't get a cut off of.

What the hell?

General / Is It 1983 already?
« on: February 09, 2010, 06:26:25 PM »
Just saw Fox Five coverage of the snow storm hitting east coast (like, as I'm posting this) and there was a story about the national guard patrolling the streets as a response. I wonder what the chances are of them being armed and extremely dangerous in case something happens?

Someone please tell me I'm overreacting and they're not going to start rounding up "funny" looking brown people yet.

Hi guys, so as you know if you haven't been living under a rock, Modern Warfare 2 is out now and everyone mad hyped about it. The game has already sold over several million copies and counting. To no surprise, I myself am interested in playing it, though I have come up to a probably insurmountable problem with the game.

As an Anarchist, I have very strong moral opinions on war, people who start them, the people who support and/or maintain them, and especially the people who fight them. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), it seems that my philosophy is affecting me, being that I physically feel unease when thinking about playing the game. This is probably because the game will undoubtedly glorify people dressed in funny costumes invading countries around the world and terrorizing, kidnapping, torturing, and killing effectively defenseless people who's only crime was being on the wrong arbitrarily defined plot of land at the wrong time.

That said, is anyone else having similar feelings?
